And Elton would be stupid to trade him to Chicago, Phoenix or anywhere else if he says he wants Miami.

So, what would it take?

This summer....

Start with Bam, Herro, Robinson, Okpala and picks.

Bam/Horford
Harris/Robinson
Korkmaz/Thybulle
Richardson/Herro
Simmons/Shake

Okpala and Zhaire developing in the background. Multiple picks coming from somewhere, maybe a 3rd team that Miami ropes in.

Sixers re-establish the future pipeline while getting better fits on the court to build around Simmons. If Korkmaz fizzles out, then Thybulle gets the start or players get traded for 3&D wing starter.

hope for the best prepare for the worst: bam adebayo, derrick jones and tyler herro (picks). bam is very skilled, and will become an adequate three point shooter in no time. what if dario saric had boyoings? thats bam. same with derrick jones jr. buy low and get picks.

And then Herro turns into the next Devin Booker and Okpala turns into the next Brandon Ingram and we live happily ever after! The end.

Gimme Bam, Herro and a unprotected first for Embiid. I’m cool with it.

Fire Brown get Jason Kidd.

Move JRich and Horford and 1st or Tobias for A lead combo scoring guard like Mccoulum or Beal..

I’m cool with it.

That's nowhere near enough.

Any deal for Embiid has to begin with 4 unprotected 1st round picks over an 8 year span. And then your top rookie contract player(s) and fill the rest with expiring contracts to get the salaries to match.

Yea lets do that so that we have a team struggling to even get to the playoffs like Kidd's Bucks.

I would offer:

1. WCJ Lauri
2. Sato LaVine
3. Felicio for salary matching purposes
4. 2020 FRP no protection
5. 2022 FRP no protection

For Embiid or Ben?

He might as well be in that tier. Davis is injury prone himself and is beta. Embiid is an alpha and legitimately is a walking status changer for whoever trades for him. I.e. becomes an immediate contender.

Health aside, Embiid is better than Davis and by a fair bit.

Curious why you would be looking for expiring deals and a rookie rather than for a proven vet who fits better with Ben, but not his current team.

Like get the picks, plus a rookie, but why not a legit starter to go with?

Horford
Harris
?
Richardson
Simmons

With guys like Shake, Thybulle, Korkmaz, 2019 rookie from trade, and 2020 draft pick from trade battling for bench minutes.

Replying to my own post with an edit...

If you are trading Joel, it's to fully build around Simmons as a small ball 5/ slashing 3 in the half court, and an attacker/initiator in the fast break.

Horford/Simmons/Pelle
Harris/Markkanen
Lavine/Thybulle
Richardson/Korkmaz or Shake
Simmons/Cole Anthony

This lineup is deadly.

Does chicago trade 2020 and 2022 unprotected, Lavine and Markk for Embiid?

It's Joel Embiid, man.

Ya'll really want a mediocre star, role players and a pick or two back for him?

It's going to take a KING'S RANSOM package to get him from us.

A half decade's worth of unprotected 1sts, a rookie contract player with star upside as conversation starter. And a few sweetners after that.

Embiid + filler for Hield, Bogdanovic (via S+T) and Bjelica. It's the best trade around among the realistic ones by a decent margin imo.

You surround Simmons to give him maximum spacing like Giannis has in Milwaukee. Bogdanovic is the lead ballhandler when Simmons is on the bench, like Jimmy used to be. We're unstoppable on offense honestly. We might be a tad short at the 2-3 spots on the defensive end with JRich, Shield and Bogda, but Simmons can easily handle even the bigger 3s.

For the Kings, Vivek finally gets his superstar, and the fit with Fox is much better. They also still have Bagley.

Edit : some of you really seem to overrate Embiid's value around the league. He's playing at the most replaceable position, is never healthy when it's playoff time, and will most probably have a short career. Also, there's just not a lot of teams around for whom a big bruising 5 makes sense today.

Appreciate the offer but this is a pretty low-ball offer man. I get you don’t think he’s that valuable, but if he’s so replaceable why target him in the first place?

You know who’d be an awesome MLE target this summer? Mo Harkless. Swap out Harris for CJ then chase him.

Simmons/CJ
CJ/Korkmaz/Smith
Richardson/Thybulle
Harkless/Simmons/Horford
Embiid/Horford

No thanks, I’d rather hold on to him than help the Kings clean up their trash.

That's worthless, the Sixers are trading Embiid or Simmons only if that gets them closer to the title, not just for better fit.

As opposed to the Kings players, who are just never playing when it's playoff time?

You'd be making the team significantly worse while adding a considerable amount of salary. There's zero reason to trade Embiid, particularly with this type of return.

You definitely think higher of him than I do. I think he's more of a vet minimum guy, than an MLE guy.

And I would never want him in my starting unit or even regular rotation. I'd just keep him as a situational PF defender to deploy in specific matchups like games against Davis or Antetokounmpo.

Other than energy buckets and transition play, I think he offers nothing offensively. No scoring, no shooting, no passing, etc.

Man, what a weird lowball offer that Kings proposal was. If Embiid demands out, after he and Simmons come to blows on the court in a playoff game? Maybe. Maybe then Elton finds himself in the position to just have to get this guy out at all costs and everyone knows it so the market just isnt there.

if that's not the case though there is no way that offer is what he would be moved for. Not in a million years.
