And MSU lost to PSU last night. Stix is hitting 3's and dominating on defense and on the boards. He's making the case to be a lotto pick. At the end of the game, Morsell stepped up and seemed to outhustle everyone else.

Maryland fans have been waiting to see this team finally arrive. They have arrived. Though I thnk they could be a legit FF contender if Ayala and Wiggins were playing better. Stix is just a beast right now on both ends and this is the kid I thought he could be at the beginning of the season. I know he's not a high on Mock Drafts yet (late firstish), but I think he could be the best Maryland prospect since Bias. He plays the modern big man game and still could use a few pounds to defend better at the next level.

Give credit to Turge for letting Stix be Stix and not Bruno Fernando. He's not Bruno Fernando as Turge found out early in the season. He's better at facing the basket.

Until this season, I'd have a tough time naming one Turgeon player who showed significant improvement from year to year. That might be the best thing about this season - seeing Stix show significant improvement on both ends, and Cowen and Morsell developing into what we hoped they would. And if Ayala and Wiggins had followed suit - and if Chol could play 20 minutes a game, this could be arguably the top team in the country. The MItchell twins are already a distant memory.

Theoretically, MD should destroy 7-16 Nebraska tonight, but knowing them, they'll be behind at halftime and then gradually pull away in the 2nd half. Bank on it. Gotta say, the quality of college basketball has really gone downhill the last few years. Even the super-exciting Duke/UNC game was pretty bad basketball - even though it was riveting.

The quality of play from game to game just isn't there. How does a top 10 team come so close to losing at home against a now 7-17 team?
