Question. Bucks don't have their draft pick this year and obviously get indys this. So...
Next year bucks then have their own pick plus indys 2nd rounder and another 2nd rounder? Correct?

Negative. Indy owns our 2021 2nd rounder, and we own their 2nd rounder a year after they convey one to Brooklyn, which is 45-60 protected thru 2022, unprotected in 2023. So unless the Pacers keep racking up L's, we won't see that 2nd conveyed to us until as late as 2024. We also own their 2025 2nd.
TL;DR: Likely no 2nds next year, definitely not two 2nds.

No. They have their own 1st. They traded their own 2nd to New Orleans in the Mirotic deal. The Pacers 2nd conveys to the Bucks the year after the Pacers give a pick to the Nets, which is protected for the next three drafts unless Indiana misses the playoffs. They're not missing this year for sure, so it's going to convey in 2022 at the earliest.
ETA Riot is right about our 2021 2nd. The 2020 2nd is going to NOP.

Re: Indiana Pacers Draft Pick Watch Thread
So I've started to catch up on Hayes and I think I'm in love.
His vision, passing, patience in the PnR and shooting skills can all be considered top of his class in his age group. He's got solid size @ 6'4, is massive already (~215 pounds). His not overly explosive but can get where ever he wants on the floor and is a very capable finisher at the rim shooting 65% from there.
For all those worried about the competition he's playing in a tier 3 league with quite a few former NCAA or even NBA players and holding his own. For reference he's got Isaiah Briscoe on his team and is outplaying him despite being just 18.
Edit: Obligatory highlights

The Pacers would have been better off keeping Bogdanovic. Not sure if that is a hot take or not.

He would be a nice swing for the fences. Question - the bucks are trying to win now, if they do indeed win now, would they take a young developmental player or try and get someone that can help right away? I'd prefer the best talent possible, but i could see the bucks go for an older guy that can play 10-15 mins right away and contribute significantly in year 2-3.

Bogdanovic and the three draft picks.
Too early to tell on that, given the age differential. But interesting thought. Not sure Bojan wanted to stay.

I'll trust this team's scouting department given their recent track record, but I do hope they don't get too stuck in their trend of drafting upperclassman and guys who are generally more NBA-ready contributors. This might (hopefully) be the earliest we're picking in the next few years, and I think there's still gonna be a few high upside guys left in that 15-20 range.

Re: Indiana Pacers Draft Pick Watch Thread
1. Leandro Bolmaro
I watched the 6-7 Argentine playmaker go for 16 points in a Spanish third division loss to Gran Canaria. With a few American-based executives in the stands, Bolmaro turned in an up-and-down performance, getting to the rim at will, defending with energy and showing glimpses as a facilitator, yet struggling to get going from 3 (1-for-7) and running from his shot in crunch time of a must-win game.
The fact that Bolmaro is now shooting 26% from 3 on 50 attempts is less than ideal, and there are questions about just how efficiently he'll be able to score in the half-court at higher levels. But having watched most of his LEB Silver games and the impact he had early on with the first team, I'd still consider Bolmaro No. 2 behind Avdija. His positional size, nonstop motor, passing creativity and ability to play on the ball as a facilitator or off the ball as a slasher give him an excellent blend of floor and upside.
Never heard of the guy.
3. Killian Hayes
Hayes has seen more minutes than any other European prospect in this draft, which has given scouts a clear window into the player he can become at the NBA level. I watched him turn in one of his most efficient games of the season with 15 points, six assists and one turnover on just eight shots, including a clutch step-back 3 to help ice the game.
Hayes' smooth pick-and-roll game, off-the-dribble passing and improved shooting at 6-5 have caught the eye of NBA scouts, with some even considering him a potential top-10 pick with starter potential. He has benefited from additional freedom after moving from Cholet to Ulm, and his lack of elite burst hasn't been as apparent as it might be in a more athletic league. Some scouts are still putting Hayes' production into context as it relates to the rest of the international class, but it's easy to envision him going in the lottery as the second European after Avdija.

Re: Indiana Pacers Draft Pick Watch Thread
Flipped on the Auburn/Bama tape to get a closer look at Okoro, but now I can't stop watching Kira Lewis Jr. 18 year old sophomore, pure shooter both off the dribble & catch and shoot, quick and athletic, can get to the rim, makes plays defensively, grab and go rebounder, electric in transition, unsure how this guy isn't in the lottery conversation? Turns it over a lot I guess.
ETA: Most recent Bama/Auburn meeting was terribly inefficient, but still posted a trip dub.

Even though Hayes is just 18, he's been playing professionally for 3 years and seems very mature both physically and mentally - though still has things he needs to work on and might get bigger. He might be closer to ready than a lot of the older prospects.

Brown/Patty/Wes potentially. All could be gone next year. Either way, they'll need some wing help.

Ill be shocked if Hayes isn't a lotto pick. From what I've read about him leading up to this year, he's no secret.Ruzious wrote:neiLz wrote:LuessiT wrote:So I've started to catch up on Hayes and I think I'm in love.

Re: Indiana Pacers Draft Pick Watch Thread
Yeah, we got next to no chance at Hayes. One underrated 2 guard that should be considered is Jahmi'us Ramsey from Texas Tech - plays aggressive angry defense (if that's a thing) and has been hitting his 3's real well lately. Just 18. Listed at 6'4, he might have grown to 6'5.

With all his real estate dealings in the area, I think Pat will be back.
