Yes. He was robbed twice. Most creative dunker ever in the contest and still can't catch a W.

...Loses. If that's not robbery, nothing is

It can't be in that goat conversation when it took him 3-4 tries to finish the dunk

Wade says it himself he only gets one miss, he missed it officially once. The wind ups usually takes energy out of the finished dunk which hurts the score.

The dunk itself was perfect. 10 power, 10 smoothness, 10 originality, 10 body control, 10 presentation. Even though he gave away what his attempt was gonna be, it was still as good as if he nailed it out the gate

Everyone was betting on Gordon, so you know Vegas had a hand on this. This is a freaking All Star festivities, imagine the Vegas preference in the real games (with real big bets).

This was way more of a robbery than 2016.

LaVine’s between the legs from the foul line in 2016 was way better than Jones Jrs multiple iterations of between the leg dunks he did tonight . And Gordon should have won in 2016 but this one was way more blatant

That's your opinion. Gordon had some of the best dunks ever in the 2016 dunk contest. He had some special dunks in this one but the sheer ridiculousness of those collective 2016 dunks makes that a massive robbery despite Lavines last dunk

Also again one can't just ignore that Gordon landed on Falls head. A 9 was certainly not out of the question. Don't forget that 2 other judges gave him just that

1 had 5-6 amazing dunks. The other had 1 amazing dunk, then started dunking on repeat. 3 Under the leg dunks from different angles. Wow. Amazing.

I had to make sure my DVR wasn't broken and rewinding itself when DJJ went up to dunk.

If tacko didn't duck slightly I think wade would have given him the trophy.

Jesus, it’s just a bit of fun. Are people actually mad? Two days from now no one will even be thinking about it.

Nah, Jones could also jump over Taco.

It's just a faulty scoring system.

It could have easily been 47/48 or 49/47 or 46/47... it's totally subjective and extremely difficult to score.

To be fair Gordon was spamming same dunks too. How many times did he jump over a guy tonight? He did 1 dunk that was between legs and one was that catch 360 from Fultz, the rest were all variations of the same dunk. He even completely copied DJJ dunk in the later rounds.

I think the real issue is the scoring system. Judges keep giving out 50s like candy and it leads to 6 rounds where guys run out of energy and ideas. It also diminishes the greatness of really good dunks like the ones Gordon had tonight from Fultz and that sitting dunk in 2016.

The problem is with the point system. There should be an extra bonus 10 points for the best dunk of the contest.

Aaron Gordon has the most memorable dunks of both this slam dunk contest as well as his showdown with Lavine.

I just don't agree. The tornado was unreal. The first under the leg was great. The rest was boring and old.

To fans "it's just a bit of fun." Ask AG if he took it seriously. Just look at DJJ's reaction when he got a 48 on his dunk too. They both took it seriously. I hate that if fans do too, it's stupid and an overreaction.
