Ture I mean he was a douchebag, but now he's more humble.

Humble?! He's scared he won't get another decent contract to keep paying off the baby-momma's he's threatened to kill. My guess is that he's doing anything he can to get a guaranteed contract longer than a year at this point.

He's never addressed that publicly..... so humbled isn't something I think is going on. If he had been a CEO or even a regular guy working at a typical job he'd have been fired in seconds.

Entitlement breeds more entitlement I guess....

To be blunt everyone has made some stupid ass threat of I’d beat your ass, I’ll kick your ass, I’ll slap you, I’ll kill that kid out loud before in their life including you and your parents. The thing is no they wouldn’t be fired because if they got taped illegally which he was, then it wouldn’t hold up and said place the fired them would get their ass sued off or have a union stop that ****.

Cousins is not a 3rd string C to Howard & McGee in 2020. :wavefinger: :wavefinger:

Can't really see how he fits unless they really do try a monster sized lineup

I think the Lakers should keep Cousins for a long term and wait till he is healthy.

AD is not a sure thing to re-sign. It would be nice for AD to sign. Hopefully he at least signs a two-year deal at the minimum with a player option for the 2nd year. I don't mean minimum salary just he signs a short term deal and decides later where he will finish up his career.

Because Dwight looks older to me and has limited minutes as big men get tired faster to me.
I would keep him.

Also between Dwight, Javalle & Cousins when healthy. It is Cousins who will be the biggest "Gamer" in the playoffs.
He will go all out to win.

Hopefully they can get some good playoff minutes out of him this year but it not keep him for next year.
When AD is out if Cousins could step in and put in 10 to 15 minutes of relief and score some easy buckets that could make a difference when other bigs on opposing teams sit at the sametime when AD gets rest.

Cousins will not play this year or any year.

Sounds like you've been there before.

This didn't go away because of a union or because it was illegally taped... it went away like a ton of this stuff does for clowns like Cousins.... by having the privilege of big money.

At no point in your life did you do something when you were little and your parent not make some reference to kill you or whip/beat you? But you know they would not actually do it.

At that point did you tape them illegally and try to use it to build a case on them? Cousins has no violent past, he has no known gang affiliations in his past, and what he said was a misdemeanor in itself. Most people don't ever get fired for misdemeanors from jobs. And few others even as average joes get fired if they have a union rep or lawyer who is mildly competent and can argue that nothing they did was illegal. To be honest he would have been in way more trouble had he been stupid enough to text or dm that to her, than the way his baby mama sat it up and used it, and it would not have went anywhere in court

Yup.... it's perfectly acceptable behavior. The ONLY thing wrong is that it was recorded. Stupid gold digger....

Maybe he should be up for the league humanitarian award.

Landsberger, no one is saying it is perfectly acceptable behavior.
What he is saying is that we are all not perfect and have made some actions or statements before that we regret in the midst of anger (and not motivated by true malice or brought out in premeditation). Some more and some less than others. Perhaps some , you, have never gone down that road. But it can be understandable .

I've never threatened anyone like he did.... ever! I grew up without a dad and my mom died when I was 9 from an overdose. Bounced around foster homes and was even "outside" for a few months in my early life. So I didn't come from the burbs.... lets just say that. I got in some trouble in that time and I faced consequences for it. Didn't have fans excusing my behavior or trying to create straw men arguments for the sake of a "favorite sports team" or winning a word battle on the internet.

It ain't even growing up in the suburbs. It's called growing up black, plenty of black mamas historically have told you how they were going to **** you up if you **** up. And by that standard all them should catch charges and kids be in CPS custody.

People say dumb ****, I know that from working in law enforcement, they say a lot of dumb **** that they don't usually mean in a heated moment. Doesn't make them bad people, doesn't make what they said right, but if you illegally record them and try to use it as a defense, then that's no good either. The threat s treated totally differently based on how she did the stuff and handled her business. I'm not excusing him, just telling you how things actually are, people should not be railroaded with illegal ****. HE should not have said it either, but they both were wrong.

Growing up poor and in a broken family is the issue. You think dirt poor white people are honkey dory? I'm black but you noticed that I have left that out of this entirely. I counseled inner city black and white kids while coaching over 20 years of AAU ball. Don't let the "headlines" fool you.... this is about poverty, family and location more than it's about skin color. I had to go through a 20 year path to get to this understanding and let go the political BS.

I've said enough for a basketball forum on this matter.

We absolutely need his energy, and if playing him 10 minutes per game gives this team more of a dog mentality then I'm all for it.

He's going to have to be tight in his role. If he is out there jacking 3s then those are just shots taken out of AD's and Lebron's hands. He's going to have to really study his role and really commit to it.
