This was a game where the boxscore +/- doesn't tell the story since it's a stat that just covers everyone on the court no matter if it's one person doing well/bad. Well last night it was Nunn pulling the rest of the starters down and it's a reason I like the ORTG - DRTG to see what a player is contributing overall.

Nunn and Dragic were really the only negatives overall on the team with below average defense and below average offense(Nunn horrible offense).

Player | +/- | ORTG-DRTG
D.Robinson | +22 | +7
Jimmy Butler | -7 | +27
Bam Adebayo | -16 | +41
Kendrick Nunn | -12 | -70
Derrick Jones | -7 | +43
Jae Crowder | +17 | +57
Goran Dragić | +13 | -13
Kelly Olynyk | +28 | +36
Andre Iguodala | +25 | +37

He's a serviceable SF, sometimes can't even hit an ocean, but always plays hard. A perfect backup for Jimmy or small ball 4.

I watched enough Crowder to know that the last game was also a bit of an aberration.

I like how Spo used Crowder, iggy, and Olynyk last night after the Warriors made their run. They calmed everything down so we could reassert the team's efforts. Defense needed to escalate and the players showed up. Goran & Butler & Derrick Jones were also great coming down the stretch.

Lucky to be able to use him to get Embiid in the offszn? :P

Nah I love me some Bam. He's the draft pick that's made me eat the biggest slice of crowcat crow pie. I didn't see this development coming, although he certainly flashed moments over the past couple seasons to suggest it was possible. Didn't envision him becoming an All-Star though.

Crazy thing is he's still so raw. Offensively, he's unrefined - I hope that changes as he matures.

Still think I'd deal him for Embiid, assuming the throw in's weren't over the top. Bam is a Top 30 guy, but Joel is a Top 10er.

There's no right or wrong answer though. I can definitely see the other side of the coin in thinking Bam could take another leap, particularly now that he knows he's good enough to dominate this league. He really could be anything.

Bam has played in every game for over a hundred games now. Embiid will never be like that. I can see them forming a great front court together.

God damn Nunn was so bad! I missed the game but holy ****, it might be time to rest him until after ASB. Your assessment it's correct, he definitely brought the starters down. I expect better from a four year college player.

Might be time to start Dragic?

Then there will be no playmaker on the second unit.

You have to allow Nunn to break out of his slump. We don't need to lower his confidence. Let him get healthy and evaluate in another 10 games. Miami needs a healthy, contributing and confident Nunn scoring with the first unit.
