There's way more food that I miss out on/have to pay a premium in order to get a worse tasting version of

You already pay a premium for everything as you live in the land down under.

Yup.

Housing being the worst of them all... particularly in Sydney. Not exactly sure if there's a truly fair means of rating housing between locations, but even housing that's quite far from the CBD is rather expensive. My house was a 4 bedroom house a good 50-60 minutes from the CBD, and it cost around $600,000 USD back in 2016. Sydney is second to Hong Kong in terms of median dwelling price : household income ratio IIRC.

Oh, and for the cigarette smokers out there, cigarettes are crazily expensive here too. Comparative point - a typical 20 pack of cigarettes is $20.15 US in Australia, and $7.50 over in the US. In some of the poorer countries out there, it's $1-2 lol. If that's not a disincentive to smoke over here, I don't know what is.

(Very glad to not be one of them... I have relatives that spend $200-250 USD a week on cigarettes! )

Lesson is - if you want to quit smoking, move to Australia and endeavour to buy a house
$250 is what... 12 packs a week? 240/7 = 33 cigarettes a day?! Wtf?!

I miss being 18 and thinking anything was possible like you could learn to dunk in 2 weeks fresh off recovery from surgery lol

Can't remember the exact timeframe, but my friend who's 5'11" trained for a few months and was able to do it. He was in his early 20s at the time. Wasn't coming off surgery tho lol...

And maybe not the smartest idea to try *because* you're coming off surgery? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sure, but it depends what level you’re at. What level of class have you completed and how much of an average conversation can you understand and/or contribute to?

First lesson - "on fire" is translated as "en llamas" or "ardiendo", not "en fuego"
Second lesson - "to be" means "ser", except when it means "estar"

        "Soy en fuego" X
        "Estoy en llamas" ✓

        The end

I've completed what is essentially a 2000 level (sophomore of college) level spanish, but don't actually remember much of the vocabulary. I still remember basic conjugation rules and how spanish grammar works though, if that make sense.

What parts do you want to improve at the moment?

Most important thing is putting in amount of time to study Spanish every day. 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes per day etc.
