Rob coming back!

But sure, it would be great if Tristan T. were sprung free and chose us.

Definitely can't count on him. Until he shows he can stay healthy.

The best option would be cut Poirier and then sign someone (even Tacko or Waters would be better) but he has another year so I doubt they cut him, what a way of wasting a roster spot.

I've seen this from more than a few posters now. We don't really think Tacko is ready to contribute yet, do we? I've seen absolutely nothing to give me confidence that he'd actually be an upgrade over even someone like Poirier.

No reason to start the clock on Tacko yet, and no reason to eat Poirier's 2nd year. I'd rather just wait and see who shakes loose.

I don't understand what the Celtics saw in Porier anyway. At least Theis had some athletic ability. Porier might be a Top 5 worst player to ever be rostered in the NBA.

An All Time STIFF.

Just having the roster spot is >>>> than anything he's contributed.

Can we rename this the Buyout and Free Agents Thread?

Having suggested that... GiGi Datome.

Tristan Thompson is an undersized center. He can’t defend the rim at all, especially against big centers, and attacking wings. We need someone bigger.

We need him to come back soon, if we hope for him to be a reliable player this season and on the playoffs. He just doesn’t have enough games and experience.

You are probably right, but I wish we would give him some real meaningful minutes at least once. Is he mentally weak? Is the team scared he's get humiliated and regress? Seems like there is a real (but obviously very very small) chance that he steps up. Why not just pick some random game and let him start the 2nd quarter and stay in for 5 minutes and really try to feed him the ball.

lol, I think you are joking, but I never got the love for this guy. I've watched most of the games for the last 20 years or so and he is the worst player I have ever seen (more than a few times) in the NBA. He could shoot sometimes but his D was just terrible.

Jeff Green gone. Not too proud to admit, he was in my pool of possibilities if we did a trade to open a roster spot before the deadline. Not sure I would have gone as far as even cutting Javonte for him, though. Moot point now.

DeMare Carroll gone too, but he was not in my pool.

I'm wondering if HOU settling for them means either a) TT & Harkless aren't getting bought out, or b) have decided on somewhere else. Probably A at this point.

I'm 100% done with the Jeff Green experience. Happy that he signed in Houston.

I really wanted to see Danny trade him again.

Jeff Green is inspiring, for someone who had open heart surgery 8 year ago, and is still playing NBA Ball.
Other that that. PASS.

Again how do you know he wanted to sign here?

The Clippers have a higher chance of winning a title. If Reggie just wanted to play, he'd have stayed in Detroit.

I would've liked him but Marvin/Reggie passed on us b/c they want to win a title, and the teams they went to have a higher chance than us.

Another bullet dodged.

Edwards isn't even playing, so sure, Reggie Jackson can take Edwards' playoff minutes (zero).

Why are people so worked up about Poirier? Dude is a 14th/15th man on an NBA roster. If he isn't good... that's basketball. Are people really freaking out that we're gonna cut Javonte Green (who is no less scrubby) instead of him?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Is anyone freaking out? (I may have short term memory issues for this thread...). It's just a smarter financial move. He's signed for $2.6M next year, Javonte is non-guaranteed. Vincent can be traded for a better player at the draft/summer (due to contract) than Javonte.
