Emiid did tried on defense he was the one the ran to Harden when it look like he had a open wide layup for the gm winner. I don't know why Kemba was playingmaking at the end. All he did was dribble for 20 sec then pass it or took a bad shot. You can tell who knows basketball by how they feel about Lowry. That charge Kyle had on Harden & Kawhi was a highlight for me lol.BoyzNTheHood wrote:Raps_Fan7 wrote:aminiaturebuddha wrote:That last play was all on Embiid though. He got totally lost on defence, which forced Kyle to end up on Davis. Not much they could do from there.
And yeah, I guess Nurse felt like he needed to play both Giannis and Embiid, but it ended up with the same offensive problems that the 76ers have with Embiid and Simmons. It got too mucked up in the paint, and there weren't enough shooters to be able to spread the floor.
You're right Emiid should have switch back to AD but decided to guard CP instead. Chris Paul ended pulling him out to the 3 point so AD can iso against Kyle. Even still Lowry could have fronted AD & force him into a jumper instead of letting him get in front of him & giving himself no choice but to foul.
There were multiple mistakes made. It seemed like Kyle and Embiid didn't communicate on defense at all. The play where Harden was wide open for the game winning layup but passed it out was one where Kyle switched, but Embiid did not. And then the same thing happened at the end and it resulted in Kyle guarding AD.
The funny thing is Giannis talked post game how they agreed they would be switching everything, yet Embiid chose to stick on his man. But of course, Lowry is the annoying one for opposing fans so he gets all of the blame when he should be praised.
Also, on a bit of a side note. I listened to the Bill Simmons podcast last night and in case you didn't know, he's the biggest Celtics homer outside of Tommy Heinson. He said he thought Kyle was "indispensable" and Kemba Walker was terrible. But again, Kyle is the guy you hate to play so all the casuals on the General Board are calling for his head. Clowns.

Re: All Star Weekend Thread
Just watched the 4th Q and it was great. Like the greatest game of pickup at the park ever. So fun to watch the best players playing a game with actual intensity and competitiveness.
Not having a clock took some getting used to. I noticed myself always looking down to see the time remaining lol. Ending on a FT sucks so have to fix that. Hope it is something the players will care about going forward as this could’ve been lightning in a bottle and may never happen again.
As for our guys, Lowry was deep in his element in a competitive game, Pascal seemed like a newbie but did well on defence. Nurse lost them the game lol. With like a 10 pt lead he let it be squandered without making any moves. Butler for Kemba at some point before it’s too late and you win.

Most big men dunks just don't look as impressive in the contest. Dwight was too casual with his, he made them look as easy as layups.
True. Not many people can dunk like that though! He made it look much easier than it was.

I missed the convo, what did Reggie Miller miss
When Pascal was talking to Kawhi on the court, telling him he was going to shut him down on his 3s, he joked that they were going to to implement the "box and 1". Reggie then made a joke about this being "what you would see in high school", instead of understanding the reference to Nurse's implementation of it during the finals.
