Only in the World of the NBA does things like this happen. Good for him.

Don't college coaches at his level end up making more than most NBA coaches?

I don't think so. I think only a handful of them make over $5 million per year. Beilien was making $3.4 M at Michigan. Jay Wright, for instance only makes $2.5 million I think. Lon Kruger makes $3M.. Shaka Smart $3M. Izzo makes less than $5M. Maybe if you're Coach K or Sean Miller you get up there.

Yeah you're right. I just looked it up. Only guys that are making in the 7 to 9 million range are Coach K and Calipari.

This has Sean Miller making about 2.7 mill.

Beilien was terrible, even by the standards of college coaches.

F'ing traitor got what he deserved for leaving the beloved Wolverines!

That said, he'll probably luck into the NC job after their terrible season.

Honestly from what I've seen over the past couple years, Kyrie Irving is probably the actual last player that I would have thought should or would be chosen for union leadership. This is a guy who is a loner, believes the earth is flat, and struggles with mental health issues. Not trying to judge the guy, just seems like a very, very odd choice by the NBAPA.

Is coach K seriously getting senile as I heard from someone? I gotta wonder if he'd be a good EVPBO for us.

Agree with that, I think there should have been several other choices that would have been better than Kyrie, when I first saw that I just shook my head, it just makes no sense.

Traitor? He led the Wolverines to 2 NC games. Back to national prominence. He almost took the Pistons job the season before he agreed to be the Cavs HC.

It's like that on the Chicago Bulls Twitter for a while already, I guess I'm not the only one here that does that frequently.

You only need to watch the Nets/Sixers game today to see how meaningless +/- is on a single game basis or even how looking at the box score in general can be so misleading

The Nets were a completely different team without Dinwiddie on the court.

He must have had at least 5 or 6 lobs to Jordan that didn’t look like good passes at all, but make you remember how good DJ is at finishing lobs because each one was a highlight dunk

Unfortunately the last play of regulation Dinwiddie passed up a chance at the game winner and in OT the Nets crumbled

But it was funny watching the Nets go on I think a 40-10 run at one stage and hearing the Sixers fans turn on their team.

Allen looked like he didn’t give a damn about the game, he was useless, a real shame as I thought he had a bright future but he seemed like he wasn’t at all interested in basketball or even capable of playing

IF the Nets can ever get a healthy Kyrie and KD then they’ve got some serious potential but I don’t see it happening

Pretty great YT series, Q and Miles always going in depth about the Chicago/IL HS basketball scene back in the 00s.

Anyway, interesting bits:

- Wade partied until 5am at Q's Chicago pad the day of the Bulls/Heat afternoon playoff game (game 3, 06 I'm assuming?). Explains why the Kirk Bulls made that series look close?

- 2010 Lebron and Wade had Chicago on the top of the list, but that 3rd max pushed Miami to top, and they had concerns about sharing the ball with pre-MVP Rose.

- He had some cool mentors and coaches. They gave a shout out to their HS assistant coach Gary Adams; seems he passed away shortly after this interview happened.

at what point does he talk about the heatles? that's a really interesting tidbit about derrick and sharing the ball. hadn't thought about that angle

still pretty obvious to me that chicago would have been the best spot for them to win a bunch of titles

Something I've wondered about is how the Bulls couldn't clear Deng's salary. I wonder what they offered teams to take him.

If they knew that getting LeBron, Wade, and Bosh would have been a done deal if they had the space, they should have offered up a couple of firsts to get it done. Or what ever it takes.

Around 59 minutes. Yeah that would’ve been an easy 3peat... assuming injuries still happen, Lebron still goes back to CLE, GarPax still fire Thibs lol.

i don't ever recall any discussion of clearing 3 max slots to bring in lebron, wade and bosh. and as wade says there, a pre-superstar d rose was a negative as far as he and lebron were concerned
