Top 5 is a MVP candidate and possibly super star, so there will be push back. However, all the talk about being a role player was off as well. Siakam is a budding star entering his prime and already played a key part to a championship.

I mean...even after his worst game (by far) of the year so far, he's averaging 26 PTS/8.5 REB/3.3 AST with a 60 TS% in 33.5 MPG. He's obviously not top 5, but he could climb his way up to the vicinity by the end of the year - much like how he started off last year as a relatively unknown role player then finished the year as a ~20 PPG scorer and a top 25 player.

Well, he's officially Top 10.

Say what you will, but Ninjabro was closer to being right than he was to being wrong.

Wooow top 5?

No wonder so many people hate our fans I never knew so many outlandish takes were going on
the general board.

When people make outlandish threads like this you make us all look bad

Siakam's a great player, and you can definitely make a case for him being top 25.

I don't know what's worse a Raptor fan started this thread or a Raptor fan bumped this thread after
November 3rd where Siakam has played his worst ball of the season the past month or so? lol

As a mod I would think you would refrain from making responses like that.

LoveMyRaps wrote:Tim Legler, one of the few people that actually watches games and provides insightful analysis is a firm believer that we have what it takes to knock off the Bucks and go to the finals. Pretty nice video where he also goes over some of the pretenders/contenders of the league:

As voted by the NBA.com global staff, Siakam was chosen as the 10th best player in the league for the first 55 games of the season.

Even Siakam's biggest supporters couldn't have predicted him making this sort of leap this season.

Last season's Most Improved Player, Siakam has helped the Raptors fill the void left by two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard with averages of 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He's a two-way star, one who's going to be on this list for many years to come.

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/2/17/21138373/nba-player-ranking-2019-20-all-star-break

The Ringer also ranked Siakam as the 10th best player in the league & Lowry as the 25th best player on their list of best players through the first 55 games of the season:

If imitation is the finest form of flattery, then Siakam must spend most of his days blushing. Just as teams set out to find the next Draymond Green after Golden State’s do-it-all forward emerged a few seasons ago, franchises across the league have spent the past year scouting for the next Pascal. In another life, they’d be cast off as “tweeners.” Now they’re one of the league’s most desirable archetypes. Detroit could have one in Sekou Doumbouya. The Grizzlies could have theirs in Brandon Clarke. But neither skilled big man holds a candle to the original. Siakam won Most Improved last season, and in a just world would win it again this season. The fourth-year forward isn’t just an All-Star; he’s a damn near superstar. The Raptors lost one of the best players alive and another starter after winning the title last June, and thanks to Siakam still have the third-best record in the NBA. The 25-year-old Cameroonian is already an All-Star and a champion. Now he’s one of the top basketball players in the world.

I've literally asked to not be a mod so as to not get stupid responses like yours. They won't grant it.

But I'll bite. Where does he rank on your list?

Just on the basis of this season.

In no order:

Kawhi
LeBron
Giannis
Harden
Westbrook
Davis
Lillard
Jokic
Butler
Lowry
Paul
Embiid
Doncic
Pascal

So, 14th.

This thread didn’t age poorly, at all but he’s clearly nowhere near the top 5. I agree with your list and I’ll add Trae Young to that list. He gets railroaded for his defense, but he’s averaging 30/9 on 60%TS. Also, fwiw, if I’m drafting these guys, I probably take KAT ahead of him also.

So 15th-16th for me.

Wow, seriously? If you had to win a playoff game right this minute you would choose all of those players ahead of Pascal?

Did you watch the Finals?

I mean, I'd want Bob Horry on my team if I wanted to win a playoff series but he was never a top 50 player in his time.
