In a perfect scenario....

The trades revitalize the offense. This is huge because teams can become less willing to crowd the paint because they respect our shooters more. More room in the paint for Karl to operate can mean less situations where he gets mugged with no call. In turn, that leads to less complaining to the refs, which gets Karl back on defense which helps improve the team defense because they don't have to cover for him.

KAT was so nasty as a pick n pop big man, he's also underutilized as a pick n roll player..we FINALLY get a PG that defenses have to play honest in the pick n roll because DLO can pull up so quick. I fully believe KAT/DLO are going to be a nasty offensive duo once they play with each other more...we'll probably see it next season, but let's see how good their chemistry already is on court

If nothing else I hope trading for DLO gets KAT to refocus. I was starting to get the feeling Karl was on the verge of checking out from the franchise. At least now we hopefully have another couple of years to get things on track.

With the new roster I am optimistic our offense is going to see a major improvement due to more guys being capable of hitting open shots. The next step is to figure out a way to make KAT an average defensive player, either by him figuring things out or the team adjusting his defensive responsibilities.

I hate to say it, but I think what you said was true. Hopefully it's not the case any more.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28678418/ten-things-like-including-mental-game-nba-champs

He ranks last among centers in ESPN's defensive real plus-minus, and 484th out of 490 players.

Then again, opponents have hit only 52% in the restricted area with Towns nearby, per NBA.com -- a stingy number. Opponents are getting to the rim and the foul line less often with Towns on the floor. Minnesota's defense has been way worse with Towns mostly because opponents have hit 41% of their 3s, and 32.7% when he rests. How much of that is on Towns? How much is luck?

Overall, Towns has been a below-average defender. But there is a decent one in here -- not a great one, but good enough to (eventually) go deep into the postseason. It's time to see that player.

Or maybe Rosas let him know the plan from the start and he was checked out from the season (but not the franchise) since then.
After all, if the plan was going to be a retool season a high pick does not hurt. Also, KAT published an image saying "Loading" in his instagram back in free agency. I think it was related to him knowing Rosas wouldn't stop his persuit but it wasnt to be done back then. Anyone who has played some games knows that loading screens can take more than you would like.

That info came out a couple days ago. As soon as I saw the report MRI for KAT's wrist I was picking up Naz in my fantasy money league.

Not this crap again. Vague about injury, KAT gonna miss like 5-10 games for the tank. Weak. At least tell us he will be out for some specified time.

No brainer. Gotta sell the franchises losing culture to the new members of the team.

Yes, they lost on the road to the hottest team in the league so we can conclude they will go 0-82 next year.

You're right, better to adopt the Thibs philosophy of playing your injured guys 40 minutes to make their injuries worse

I hope Thibs gets the Knicks job and turns them around. IMO he was simply a scapegoat here when the Butler fiasco happened. The Wolves played much better ball under Thibs then under Saunders.

Back in the day they had a name for MN coaches that are secretive.

I'd say he pretty well earned his firing. Particularly if the rumors were true about how the Butler situation was handled.

That said, I think he still has potential to be a great coach. He needs to be more open to evolving though and create a better work environment, not just for players his front office seemed like a mess too but that shouldn't be much of a problem if he just has coaching duties.

That said we did player better ball with Thibs but we also had a better roster (at least before the recent trade) and the fact that Thibs was a defensive coach yet we had the worst defense in the NBA for years was damning.

KAT injured now?

I swear that DeAngelo Russell is a curse to the best players of every team he is on. He gets to be the star by attrition.
