Thank you.

Based on the play of Theis/Kanter and the play of Horford, I would think the team would be worse.

Agreed. Who knew?

Schedule strength through Week 17

Toughest: 1. New Orleans, 2. Atlanta, 3. Sacramento
Easiest: 1. Milwaukee, 2. Toronto, 3. Memphis
Schedule strength is based on cumulative opponent record, and adjusted for home vs. away and days of rest before a game.

If you had to name 3 teams that you want to have had the easiest time of it and should regress it would be:
Milwaukee, Toronto, Memphis
Full of sound and fury; signifying nothing

How would the team have signed Kemba if they kept Al?

Oh, and had they kept Kyrie and Al, the team would have been doubly worse.

The team talked a 3 team sign and trade:
Kyrie to Nets
Rozier to Charlotte
Kemba to Boston

That would have allowed team to make an offer to Horford, or if nothing else would have preserved the full MLE.
But Danny wanted Carsen Edwards and Tremont Waters more than the possibility of Keeping Horford, or conducting a Horford sign and trade.

The Bucks' schedule will get harder once they have to play the Bucks.

"Hello Darkness my old friend" isn't something you question about publicly Fencer, you have to know better than this moving forward.

Fencer & I are older.
Some of us more mature folks are still major studs & cool dudes.
Some not as much.
So be patient & tolerant of him - he means well & is a nice guy.

-- Hayward will be the first starter to sit, so that he can help ball-handle for the reserves.
-- Jayson and Jaylen will get almost all their minutes together.
-- Kanter will not start.
-- Theis will.

All this is based on the theory that rotations in preseason are indicative of what the coach wants to try in the regular season ... and, hey, whatever he did in preseason seemed to work pretty well.

This is certainly how I felt after the four preseason games. With Theis, Brown, Tatum and Hayward switching and flying over the court on defense, it looked pretty formidable at times so I would like to see Theis as the starter.

Brad's first preseason attempt was to have Rob starting. With his long injury layoff I don't think there'a a chance of that now unless he comes back and plays well while Theis goes down to injury.

Important development imo. Remember when our offense turned to **** whenever IT or Kyrie sat in past seasons? It appears the rest of the guys do just fine now on offense whenever Kemba is off the floor. Could be critical if Walker misses more time due to load management and of course in the playoffs whenever he hits the bench.

zoyathedestroya wrote:Here's a dumb thing I'm tracking -- number of 25+ point games from players outside of our top scorer. I felt we've never really had legit scoring threats outside of IT, Irving, and to a smaller extent Jeff freaking Green in the Stevens era. This might be the first season where we have 3 or 4 guys who can score 25+ any given night.
Spoiler:
2013-14:
• Green - 13
• Others - 16 (next highest: 5)

2014-15:
• Green - 7
• Others - 16 (next highest: 5)

2015-16:
• Thomas - 24
• Others - 12 (next highest: 5)

2016-17:
• Thomas - 55
• Others - 8 (next highest: 4)

2017-18:
• Irving - 28
• Others - 13 (next highest: 5)
2018-19:
• Irving - 31
• Others - 14 (next highest: 5)

Three games in, we have one 25+ point game each from Kemba, Tatum, Brown, and Hayward.

Update after 55 games:
• Tatum - 21
• Kemba - 18
• Brown - 12
• Hayward - 6
• Smart - 2
• Theis - 1

Already surpassed last season's total by 15 and we still have 27 games to play.

How tall is the teacher? What is his athleticism like? If they are 6'9" or taller would they be willing to sign with Boston?

Zoya you got a side by side stat comparison of Al vs Theis this season?

I mean thank God we dodged that bullet for 4 more years.

Statistically, Theis has been better for us than Horford has been for the Sixers in every conceivable way apart from Al's 3-point percentage and playmaking. But even his assist % is lowest it's been since he left Atlanta. Theis is shooting in the 40s from 3 for over a month now.

Image

Horford ON the court: ORTG - 33rd percentile, DRTG - 86th percentile, NetRTG - 64th percentile
Theis ON the court: ORTG - 74th percentile, DRTG - 89th percentile, NetRTG - 90th percentile

Theis has a higher RPM and DRPM. Theis 43rd in PIPM, Horford 75th.

Funny Al left a dysfunctional situation only to be smacked in the face with another. Theis seized the opportunity. Grass is not always greener.

Can't remember the last time a player left Stevens and was better for it.
