didn't you just suggest that the Bucks could be humiliated by losing to the Raptors this year? correct me if it wasn't you

He said that a matchup for the Bucks against the Raptors isn't deal.

Either a) you beat us, but you were suppose to b) you lose to us and it's bad, because you lost to a Kawhi-less Raptor squad.

Or we beat you and go to the Finals/ECF, which is ideal. Just a thought

You would think last year's a88 whoppin would humble you

I was hoping this wasn't by a Raptor fan, but it is. It is the kind of post that brings bad karma and the cosmic karma farking of all time. We can eliminate the Raptors this season by the Celtics in the second round.

I'll admit as much as I've been high on him since the 2016 draft, I never thought that he'd reach this level. That being said, the Top-5 talk was always ridiculously outlandish. His advanced numbers really aren't nearly as impressive as his box score numbers suggests they should be. His efficiency has taken a pretty big hit with the increased usage, and I'd put him firmly anywhere in the 15-25 range. Great player but the superstar talk is a bit much. He needs to show more.

Largely irrelevant when it comes to assessing how they fit into a team's winning strategy.

Siakam's extra-gear on both ends of the court in last year's playoffs, was completely overshadowed by Kawhi's historic run.
It won't be this year.

Fun times ahead.

I love your optimism. I hope so badly that the Bucks match up with the Raps

Weren’t you among the many Bucks fans making that exact same wish just last season? The guy from my sig has been completely MIA this season. He still hasn’t recovered....

Nothing good came come from this matchup for you. The Bucks would be he heavy favourite against the Raps so if they win, it’s a shoulder shrug by the entire basketball world and if you get upset then it’s suddenly one of the biggest chokes in NBA playoff history. I would think that Bucks fans have higher goals this season then simply winning the east but maybe I’m wrong?

If the Bucks win it would slow down the Raptor trolls immensely, and that sounds pretty good.

His box score metrics probably put him around the 25ish range while his impact metrics put him in the backend of the top 10ish. This thread overshot, but dudes improvement has been nothing short of ridiculous.

Well, comparing last year's regular season stats to his playoff performance, he upticked his hustle stats and defensive rating, and his total per game offensive output went from 16.9 to 19.1 at the cost of some efficiency. He Averaged 19.8 in the finals and made Draymond Green look amateurish at times.

The claim i'm making is that he's likely to pick up the pace in similar fashion this year. So it's not that I'm expecting some extravagant and overly optimistic performance burst out of nowhere. He's averaging 23.5 ppg. I can see him getting 25.7 ppg in the playoffs while increasing his defensive intensity.

I for one, think the thread topic is asinine for multiple reasons.

Yea amazing how pedestrian a role player can look when missing two of their top players

Sometimes as diehard fans of a team we see one of our guys balling out and naturally start thinking of them as a top 5 player. Then you step back and realize a lot of guys around the league are balling out even more so.

This thread was bumped because Pascal was ranked 10th in the NBA by NBA.com and The Ringer.

last years Raptors had multiple elite perimeter defenders (FVV, Green, Lowry), multiple elite role playing shooters(Green, FVV, Lowry, Siakam), a GOAT level ISO closer(Kawhi), and multiple elite rim protectors (Gasol, Ibaka, Kawhi and Siakam help D)

these are the main contributors to that Raptor team in order - Kawhi, Siakam, Gasol, Lowry, FVV, Green, Ibaka

this is the Lakers core 7 in their rotation by comparison - LeBron, AD, Kuzma, Green, Howard, Caruso, and Rondo

I'll take the Raptors core pretty easily

That depends in large part on how a team is built and coached. 8-)

Detroit Pistons 243 games lost to injury. Lottery.
Portland Trail Blazers 211. Lottery.
Washington Wizards 209. Lottery.
Golden State Warriors 197. Lottery.

Toronto Raptors with 188 games lost to injury. 2nd seed.

New Orleans Pelicans 178. Lottery.
Atlanta Hawks 171. Lottery.
Chicago Bulls 159. Lottery.
Minnesota Timberwolves 157. Lottery.

Right now he's someone that gets by on heaters and playing good to great defense on a nightly basis. There's been an uptick in free throws since he was named the all-star starter, and if that continues he'll weather the nights where his legs aren't there a little better. I don't think he gets enough respect for the ground he's asked to cover on the most sophisticated defense in the league. He has to do a lot of reacting at high speed and he plays a lot of minutes.
