Post#1 » by G R E Y » Fri Feb 21, 2020 5:39 pm

After a much needed break and some R&R, our RRT continues tonight. It feels like there hasn't been Spurs basketball in a month, so I hope the renewed vigor translates into energized and focused team play on both ends from here on out.

WHERE: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, UT

Thought you guys might have liked this stat:

Dejounte Murray and Derrick White have a +9 net rating together. Granted it's in only 77 minutes of playing time, but that combo was what a lot of people were looking forward to seeing this season, and unsurprisingly, it's been remarkably effective and horribly under-explored.

I hope somebody gets into Lonnie's stubborn ear about those flair drives where he keeps missing bunnies because he doesn't use glass or because he's so in love with showing his athleticism that he exposes the ball and gets stripped. You'd think he'd clue in but he keeps trying both and missing. Can't keep giving points away because of refusal to use fundamentals.

Jakob needs to stop with the missed bunnies. A 7' player has no excuse to miss 1/2 a foot away from the basket. DUNK IT!

Solid second consecutive road win! Our D helped pave the way. I like it. I like it a lot.

Good stats by Murray but still not impressed and not seeing how that style of play helps us going forward.

Even if he becomes a knock down mid range point guard, when they collapse on him, he hasn't shown any inkling of a point guard skillset in then creating for others.

Don't get me wrong I don't dislike him. I just think his career (and any team he plays for) would greatly benefit from him being the backup point guard off a bench.

It doesn't help that the combo of him and Derozan just don't fit on court and for whatever reason, he and Lonnie never seem to play well together.

I look at White as more of a Brogden type player, super solid starter, you always know what you're getting. Easier to build the rest of the team knowing that.

I like to look at guys like, could they be the best or second best player on a title team. With Murray I can't see him ever being better than the third. Which is fine if we have the roster to make that happen, but it seems the team are eyeing him as the best player on the the team, which I just can't see ever working for any player with his skillset.

It's been such a weird season. The die hard fan in me wants them to win every game but the realist knows there's little value in making the playoffs.

Can we get Moe from the Simpsons to sneak into the locker room with a crowbar and take out the knees of Demar and LA to force the issue?
