Markieff Morris Agrees to Buyout

I think Galloway is the only guy left who might get bought out. Knight has had tellem as an agent. I think we’re trying out Henson as a cheap free agent for the tank next year. Snell has a player option and I just think they view him as a good enough wing for next season.

I don’t think we’re going full philly, I kind of hope we flip some guys to free up money for other teams to add picks for us.

The gap between how **** both franchises are run isn’t cataclysmic as you think. Anyone thinking we were that much better than the Knicks on the last decade are delusional. At least the Knicks had some good Melo led playoff runs and wins.

I hope I do see it. I hope to see the Pistons lose 60 games the next two seasons while playing young guys, acquiring picks, and making sure anyone with an ounce of talent who isn’t part of the long term plan gets moved.

I don't have that hard a time believing it truthfully.

If they know he's going to be bought out (since we had no incentive not to buy him out) then why would they give up anything for him? They know they've got a shot for free if they want it.

We all need to accept that we just didn't have anything people were willing to give up value for. I bet Derrick Rose wasn't even getting offers better than second rounders. Teams have become extremely stingy with their draft picks. Marcus Morris is a wing having an amazing season with a great 3 point shot, and all he fetched was a late first rounder. That's the way of it these days.

Must be nice to be in a management position that allows you to mindlessly trade for (and/or straight FA signings) random, terrible contracts (by giving away expiring contracts) before the start of the season and then, turn around and buy out those same horrible contracts by midseason.

Morris' was a terrible contract. There is a reason why not even a contender was willing to giving up a meaningless second round pick for Markieff.

Morris wasn't a terrible contract. Low dollar + 2 years can't be described as horrible for a rotation player. The opposite of "not worth a draft pick" isn't "horrible contract you would need to add picks to to get out of"

Morris was on a great contract, had him locked up for next year at 3.2 million or something ridiculously low for a guy of his caliber. I'm not sure why they traded him either, unless he made a request to be traded. Might as well have Morris/Rose on the bench on super value contracts than, Dragon Bender.

All of that and yet no one in the NBA wanted to trade for him?

In my book, the contract has value because the rest of the NBA also sees the value (same or similar). If you can't even get a #60 pick, and your team wants to buy out the said contract midseason, then it was a useless / terrible contract.
