I'd have to put last night's win in the top 5 of OKC wins this season.

Denver has owned OKC the last couple of seasons. And for OKC to lead this game from practically star to finish.....minus a couple of minutes in the 2nd qtr....was impressive as hell.

Dort is a basketball player, Ferguson is just a guy on the court who is athletically gifted

I'm too lazy to look up all the advanced metrics and such but just from what I've observed, Dort looks like he's already a better perimeter defender than Ferguson.

The only thing that Ferguson does better than Dort is shoot threes. And hell, Ferguson is such a passive offensive player that even that advantage might as well be ruled negligible when comparing the two players.

Ferguson is shooting 1.5% better than Dort from three right now. Over the last ten games Dort is shooting 37.5% from three and Ferguson is shooting 14.5%. Dort only has 52 attempts on the year and Ferguson has 135. Obviously Dort hasn’t played in has many games since he is a two way guy. Dort averages 2.6 3 point attempts per game and Ferguson is at 3.2.

I don’t think there is enough data to say much conclusively about Dort. Ferguson probably is capable of shooting better than what he’s shown this year but I don’t think he has shown he has the mental fortitude to be an nba player. He’s always been streaky. Some of that is just the nature of the game or basketball but it pretty obvious watching him he has zero confidence in himself. The play last night late in the third quarter where he turned the ball over on a pass instead of taking the easy shot really summarizes who he is as a player right now.

SGA is definitely our future point. Yeah, he’s a combo guard, but that’s not a bad thing. I like a Schroder/SGA foundation going forward, but ideally, we want to get younger with more upside.

I know the exact play you're talking about and you're absolutely right. That's the kind of thing players who lack confidence do.

Do you happen to know what the Thunder's options are for extending a full contract to Dort for the remainder of the year? Since there is a club option for Diallo after this year, I'm wondering would waiving Diallo be a feasible option to create a roster spot for Dort. Or something along those lines with another seldom used player.

Yep that one. There was about a minute left in the qtr and Denver was making a run. Ferguson had a decent look at a mid range shot but ol' hot potato was too scared to take the shot.
