Remember a time when people were saying Brandon Ingram had the higher ceiling? I think it was 2 weeks ago. They aren’t saying that anymore.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Tatum needs to improve a lot his playmaking and passing to draw more fouls and put his game in another level, is that what will make him unpredictable on offense and will draw more fouls like Doncic, even the players that have super elite athleticism (he doesn't have it) need some playmaking and passing to be effective.
I mean I say this to people who thinks Tatum needs to improve his FT ratio when in reality what he needs to improve is playmaking-passing to draw more fouls because those things are linked, I don't know a star o superstar who was able to draw a lot of fouls without good playmaking and passing.

That's an outstanding point. He used to seemingly plan every move a couple of seconds in advance, thne execute on the plan. He's gotten more reactive dribbling and shooting. Now the passing needs to speed up as well.

Hard to deny the following four things:

  • Tatum has taken over as the best player on a much better team than Ingram's
  • Tatum gives you smothering defense at multiple positions
  • Tatum is younger and less experienced than Ingram
  • The scoring and efficiency numbers for the two players have been gradually converging over the last month or two as Ingram has regressed to the mean a bit and Tatum has exploded

Especially with the last point (gradual convergence of scoring), it's challenging to find any justification for boosting Ingram's potential over Tatum's.

Ingram is a good player too. It’s really all about the meteoric rise in Tatum’s game. He attacked the rim with patience against the top candidate for NBA defensive player of the year and finished strong every time. Who saw that coming after the first 2 months of the season?

Two games ago, Jayson Tatum became the youngest Celtic to score 3,500 points (on his 1st season as a semi-1st option). Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if he stays relatively healthy and remains in Boston the rest of his career, he could surpass both Paul Pierce and John Havlicek for the franchise scoring record.

Sign him to the 20-year max extension, Danny!

Couldn't of imagined he'd take the leap so soon, very exciting, never so happy kyrie is gone and we have a kid that just past him in the rankings.

These Celtic alternate jerseys from the Lakers game will become synonymous with Tatum in the annals of Celtic history

Probably not. I'm pretty sure the city uniforms change every year.

Trust me. These unis aren’t going anywhere. Celtics org knows how popular they are

Just like Miami always bringing back the Vice jerseys and the Pels bringing back the Mardi Gras jerseys

6'9", 19 years old, favoured over Zion and Ja in the Rookie of the Year race.

In seriousness, I'm stunned by the mid season leap he's taking. I'm trying to think if I've seen this before by a Celts player.

Reminds me a bit of that IT January stretch where he was dropping 30+ or 40+ games on the regular.

Not a bad take. Different situation, obviously, but the sudden leap from good to All NBA is there.
Even more exciting when it's coming from a young stud, instead of an aging midget (who I loved, but it was hard to ignore the problems it caused defensively).

I tried to remain humble all season. Last season really hurt. I tried to not be overexcited about anything.
But watching him in 2020 is really making me forget everything. Still i won't be arrogant and cocky ever again(i hope).
God give him health. Nothing else. We got our star and i will gladly bury all my doubts.

Jayson tatum needs to get better has a passer. He himself said he wasn't use to getting doubled team that much. He Turned the ball over amd wasn't really finding the correct guy out of the double team. Other than that he improving at a steady rate.

Yeah, I guess that's his next step. He's got to focus on what to do out of the Double Team.
And then just general passing ability.

He's basically never seen a ball-denial trap like that in his career. Yes, he needs to get better, but he will need some time to adapt if teams are going to treat him that way. Having Kemba around will also really help with that.

And good riddance to these.

-- The green is somewhat wrong.
-- The yellow is horrid. (Gold worked; yellow does not.)
-- The font, while quite attractive, is really hard to read.
