I thought KCP deserved the match ball for this one.. same way Igoudala and Kawhi(Spurs) got finals MVP for defending the best player on the court. His defensive plays on Tatum the last 40 seconds were amazing.

Tatum - 18 pts 2nd qtr; 16 pts in 7.5 mins of 3rd qtr, till Vogel put KCP on him; 5 pts after that(2 on Kuz & McGee switch)

The technical foul was completely ridiculous and could have altered the outcome, but AD missed so oh well. Everything else was just whining.

We're going to see teams get physical with Davis and McGee like the C's did today. We got maybe 1 oop all game. The middle was rough both ways.

All in all today I didn't see the game officiated one way over the other. They missed the goal tend on Kuzma's shot but it also looked like that ball late went off Davis' finger last. The other miss was when the C's saved the ball on the side.... he never stepped out. Other than that it seemed like the refs were not an issue.

When they used to do that to Shaq, first he'd yell/warn the ref that they needed to do something or someone was going to get hurt, then the next time someone held him, he'd throw them out of bounds and stare at the ref and tell him "I told you."
Then he'd say the same thing after the game... "If they ain't going to protect me, I'm going to protect myself, and my team mates."
We need a little more of that from AD starting now... That's not really his thing, but someone needs to send a message.
Now's the time to get tossed from a game or 2, not in the playoffs.

This is a horrible connection but Davis is more like Kareem. Kareem used to use skill and smarts to overcome the physical stuff they threw at him back in the day. I'm not seeing Davis throw anyone out of bounds. If he did he'd fall down as well. Never seen a guy fall to the floor more than him.

I'm glad we won using our size and didn't start chucking 3's.... well.... other than the scripted LeBron chucks early in the clock down the stretch.

I wasn't in any way saying I thought AD was like Shaq... I was saying that sometimes you need your big man star to send a message to the refs as well as the other team...
You're a Kareem guy.... So you should know Kap had no problem at all laying an elbow on a guy that got too fiesty. I mean, he was more skilled than anyone he faced, but he was also strong, fearless, and tough as nails.
I don't think I ever saw Kap shy away from things getting chippy...

So I'm just saying, if you're a big as dominant as AD is, and you're getting beat up and feel the refs aren't protecting you, maybe you need to show them the error of their ways by tossing a small ball big into the first row.

Just saying that being a nice guy doesn't usually get you a Championship. And maybe we're not getting the calls because we're whining too much and not playing aggressively enough.

Oh I agree 100%. Not sure Davis is that guy however. I'd love to see it but he doesn't seem to play that way. Howard is that guy however.

Shaq would inadvertently toss guys into the 3rd row. He didn't get mad often but I remember when Brad Miller almost died.... and Barkley got lucky Shaq swung and missed too...

To Kareem.... one of my favorite memories of him is when he was jawing with Bird, Parish and McHale in the finals. None of those guys wanted anything to do with him after they had been chipping at him for over 2 games. The thing about Kareem is..... he played all but the last couple years of his career at 225lbs. Kobe weighed more than that for most of his career... but then again Kareem trained with Bruce Lee.....
