Looking forward to seeing Ayton go up against Gobert. Matches against guys like Gobert and Adams are the most difficult for him and i felt Ayton did a decent job overall against Adams earlier this year.

Thankfully Gobert isn't as strong as Adams. ayton didn't even try fighting for boards against okc the last game. Rudy's length isn't something ayton has played against this year, closest being whiteside.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&player_id1_hint=Deandre+Ayton&player_id1_select=Deandre+Ayton&player_id1=aytonde01&idx=players&player_id2_hint=Rudy+Gobert&player_id2_select=Rudy+Gobert&player_id2=goberru01&idx=players

Ayton averaged 10/8 on 43% against rudy last year.
Rudy averaged 20/14 on 71% shooting.

I only recently learned that Rudy's last name wasn't pronounced like robert.

This is the Suns forum, what is "progress"?
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Ayton has been playing very well.. I hope to see him actually play well vs a player like Gobert. Would do a lot for his confidence. Should be a good one! I expect Rubio to have a great game vs his old team too.

Good team. Usually we'd go down 20+ then try to make a run when the other team let's up. Then talk about how well they "fought" despite losing anyway.

"Go-bear". In French, you don't pronounce the last letter.

On paper, DA should have a good game. The Jazz's defensively has slipped without Derrick Favors. Without Derrick Favors, the paint is going to be more open for DA to operate, when they pull Gobert into the perimeter. If they crowd the paint, it should open up for our shooters/wings. Booker an DA should have good game. Donovan Mitchell has struggle somewhat of late, and if Bridges can contain him, it should be a W.

I would like to see us use Baynes as more of an enforcer when he goes in. Have him be extra physical with Gobert. I thought Jerome had a bad game against the Bulls, so I am wondering if Carter should get more minutes, just because he is more aggressive defensively. Also, when Okobo is in the game, have him say nasty trash talk in French to Gobert. I want to see a Slap Shot reaction.

Overall, this will be a tough game for our guys, and they should expect the same swarming defense they saw from the Bulls.

Interestingly "Gobert" is the French word for "dancing beaver". Rudy's great great grand father was from the same native American tribe as Elizabeth Warren's family and when Gobert's family moved to France in the late 1700s they translated his great great grandfather's Indian moniker to French so that the name would live on.

Anyway, let's beat those pesky Jazz!

Yeah I don’t think this is a game that any Suns fan should look “forward to”. Ayton has improved a ton but he’s still not ready for a physical matchup with Gobert. I doubt Ayton himself is looking forward to this matchup and he probably didn’t get much sleep last night thinking about having to play against Gobert either.

Utah coming of a loss too so their gonna play with a sense of urgency while the Suns are gonna more lax coming off the win against Chicago.

This one could get ugly fast but I hope it’s a competitive game at least.

If Suns receive Russell and Towns next season do our chances of winning the chip skyrocket to 100%? Just need serious answers to a serious question please.

Return to Phoenix Suns
