doesnt just reach for steals. plays solid chest to chest defense.
less than ideal closing out on shooters.

v. Ill, game winning rebound and dunk swooping in from the top of the key.

College Gameday did a cute little feature on him and his family today. Lives in his dorm with his pregnant wife and kid. Seems like an awesome guy.

Doesn't seem like a "hang out" guy so that's a plus.

LSU/Alabama was a good one.

Kira Lewis: 27 points, 4 assists, 3 steals

My guy Skyler Mays played well in a loss: 24 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block.

How is Isiah Joe looking this season? Quite a lot of flash to him last season, obviously I haven't kept up with any progress he might have made.

Was pretty good, but he's out for the season with knee issues I think.

Read on Twitter

Is Marcus Zegarowski a legitimate prospect? Offensively, his numbers are very impressive:

66% at the rim (5% assisted), 43% from midrange, 37% from 3, 75% FT.

Also seems to be an excellent passing playmaker.

Haven't seen much Creighton his year, but he has some interesting numbers.

A lot of good tiny guards in college this year. Both Zegarowski and Oregon's Payton Pritchard can play.

Is the OKC20 pick top 20 protected? Do we still own it (I'm thinking we may have already dealt it)? If so, OKC basically has to pass us, Houston, or Miami realistically in the standings for us to get it. They are running hot and didn't sell at the deadline so it's not out of the question. 21 would be a nice asset to have.

tankathon has vernon carey going #20 and jalen smith #21. i dont believe carey lasts past ten. but if he falls that far or close to it, and we have #21, we need to go up and get him. nothign about his shooting stroke to suggest he can't improve outside over time. not a fan of jalen smith.

Prospects that Negrodamus has recently mentioned on here get a good write up in Hollinger's latest Athletic piece: Elijah Hughes and Desmond Bane. He also has some more well-known names in his "undervalued prospects" article but also Standfords Tyrell Terry as a smokie.

When going by a "purity test" of the statistical data that I look for, it's hard to find many that check all the boxes in this draft. Elijah Hughes comes pretty close to it though.

At this point, what's the point of having a bigman if he can't defend? Might as well just go small at the point. Carey is like a shade better than Okafor defensively. Those guys don't have much value, regardless of how productive he'll be as a scorer.

I haven't looked at many mocks this year. Was shocked to see Devon Dotson down in the 2nd round range. I think he's right there with Killian Hayes and Cole Anthony in terms of all-around star G. Seems like a no-brainer in the top 10.

Here's Myles playing with his goon squad. This is the point I made earlier this season, he gets absolutely blitzed by defenders which lends to him passing to the open man who doesn't convert. Then he needs to create his own offense so Seton Hall can put points on the board and that leads to him shooting 30% this year on contested tough jumpers. I can't even imagine how prolific his scoring could be when he's on a team with legitimate basketball players.

Assuming you guys don't get the Thunder pick, the guys I like for your early 2nd picks that may be there are;

Kira Lewis Jr.
Carlos Alocén
Jahmi'us Ramsey
Isaiah Joe
Devon Dotson
Tres Tinkle
Desmond Bane
Saddiq Bey
Killian Tillie

I wonder if Tyler Bey is going to get drafted higher than expected because he's putting up numbers similar to Kawhi in his final year at SDSU. I'd be extremely hesitant of taking him high since he's been largely a post player on offense. Also, Kawhi isn't a projectable player. Yes, he had the wingspan, huge hands, and great defensive stats, but he wouldn't be the superstar he is today if he didn't transform his shot into one of the best in the league. He also had density in college while Bey has a slighter frame.

Still an intriguing prospect nonetheless. Last "wing" player that was averaging near 10 rpg, to my recollection, was Brandon Clarke and he's playing extremely well for a rookie.

TAMU vs UK is a fun game so far. Everyone making their shots. Lots of dunks.
