Yeah but it looks like he got back the Brooklyn pick this year.

He’s only given up one draft pick, and that was to move Wiggins.

He bet pretty heavily on his team turning things around next season and unless there is some miracle defense that changes the dynamic, that's simply not going to happen. I haven't hated all of his moves or anything but I haven't been impressed, either, and I really don't see how giving up both his 1st and 2nd rounder for a non-lottery Nets pick this season was worth the cost of taking on Russell, even if it means moving Wiggins. It looked like a lateral move from a player standpoint at the time and it looks even more like a lateral move now.

At this point, I just see Rosas spinning his tires. That said, I'm not sure how much I blame him. I get the impression that the Wolves organization in general tends to cheap out a bit on scouting and player development relative more successful organizations and unless that changes, I don't see how changing the GM is going change that ever. The Wolves have been at this for quite some time now and always seem to get the same results with a pretty standard prototype and there's really only one thing that hasn't changed.

Oh look, one of the seven remaining Wolves fans has taken offense. But hey, I'm sure a team on pace for 23 wins that will probably struggle to get that many while they tank is going to be super happy to not have their lottery pick this season or next. Rosas is a fine GM but I don't actually think GM has been their problem. Their entire scouting and player development needs a massive overhaul. Teams that are already way better are outdrafting them using late 1sts, 2nds and undrafted players and they're giving up lottery picks to make lateral trades.

But to cavalierly throw out "worst team in the NBA" in a fit of hyperbolic attention-seeking posting... meh.

There's just not much there to support it... sans a prediction that KAT is injured for a large chunk of the season.

Well now!

You missed a very key part of Abe's post. Hint: I'll bold it and underline it to make things easier for you....

Correct me if I'm wrong, Klomp, but since November 27th, the Timberwolves have played 19 games with KAT in the lineup, going 1-18 in those games. :noway:

I disagree on two fronts.

Firstly, moving Wiggins was not a lateral move. He was a millstone around the team's neck. Even after an improved start you could see he was starting to slip into old habits (namely sleepwalking through games). Considering most thought it would take multiple picks to move him for anything, only having to give up one was a god send. To get a functional player in return is an outright miracle.

And in terms of scouting...I'm guessing you just haven't been paying attention this season (can't blame you, we aren't exactly must watch TV). Both of our 2 way players have been stellar at times and look like they could have long futures in the NBA, while they grabbed Reid as an UDFA and Nowell (43rd pick) has killed it in the G League (hasn't translated as of yet, but it's something). Culver has struggled, sure, but honestly so have most of the guys in that draft range so I'm still ok with that pick (all he needs to do is improve his shot, he's got a good foundation for everything else).

People seem to forget this isn't the Wolves of the last 15 years. The FO has been completely overturned and it's showing. Don't get me wrong, I understand why people would be skeptical. But the evidence is there for good management if you take a look.

Exactly.

You can’t be mad at the Wolves for giving up the first in 2021 to move Wiggins.

And the second is just not a big deal considering we may have Brooklyn’s first this year to counter it.

There are some die-hard Rosas haters and the first season isn’t over yet.

This Foye poster said he’s done following the team. That’s a bit much.
