Zion in arguably his 2nd worst match up in the league against the Lakers (MIL probably the worst), put up 29/6/3 on just 18 FGAs.

There are years were Zion would be so much better than the competition that 30 games or so would do it. This isn’t it.

He's been good but his stats albeit very good for a rookie are not really great and for example worse than T.Young's stats last year.
Zion's stats after only his 15 first NBA games are already all time rookie great level and we're not even mentionning his immense and undeniable impact on his team results.

It's outrageous how last year top rookies like Ayton and Doncic get banged every time with no call and this guy who haven't played 20 games yet gets the Harden treatment.

The scary thing is that he doesn't look overmatched other than the Bucks game. He's supposed to play like a rookie against this match up.

Laker bigs gave him trouble also turnovers which he's been really good at so far,So on a"bad night" he still puts up 29.

Another Co-ROY would be fun if it would please all parties

Give it to Ja for being available all year and give it to Zion for clearly being the best rookie AND being a historic record breaking rookie on top of it

Creates another undeniable bond between these 2 for their legacies

Someone jumped on their burner account just to beat a drum about the most physical force in the league getting foul calls when teams are hacking away at him.

lol. this guy. Zion is constantly attacking the basket, he's big strong physical, attacking moving toward the hoop. with the way he plays the game and his wide body, it's nearly impossible to keep him off the line.

Also, Doncic? really? you're talking about a dude who shoots 9 FTs a game. He's 4th in the league in FTA per game. c'mon, man, you can do better than that.

the way i see the ROY race, if Zion finishes the season at 25+ ppg on 60% FGs, something like 65% TS (which is absolutely within his reach) and the Pelicans continue to improve with him on the floor, he will and should win ROY despite missing 50 games or whatever it is. Bottom line, he has a chance to finish having arguably the best rookie season in history, and by production be literally worthy of an All-NBA selection. not saying he'd be All-NBA, but by the numbers he'd be worthy.

Ja is missing Winslow, JJJ, Clarke, and Allen (for better or worse a rotation player for us) and Memphis hit a brutal stretch of games. Those guys will be out for a bit too. I think using which team makes the playoffs between Memphis and New Orleans is a flawed criteria especially if you consider how Memphis was supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league.

I think that currently Ja should still win ROY given what he has done all year even though in a redraft you take Zion every time. That said, a sizeable part of Ja's brilliance is his passing and that is going to take a hit the next couple of weeks with the amount of non-shooters/poor-shooters/slumping-shooters he will have around him. Zion could make up a lot of ground during that stretch.

Honestly it’s been Ja Morant’s award to lose at this point. He should be the clear cut ROY. Zion has been impressive nonetheless.

MVP voting is influenced by a team’s overall record. Is it a stretch to say that this wouldn’t be a factor for ROY voting?

Historically team record has not mattered for ROY. Top rookies tend to go to bad teams and are expected to miss the playoffs.

It may influence some votes this time around. I still believe that Ja will win ROY but Zion will be a surprisingly close second place in votes.

Embiid was slightly behind Saric for third place in votes in 2016-2017 and he only played 31 games.

People need to stop using embiid as an example. Every other rookie in that class was really bad (brogdon only averaged 10 points), that's why embiid got so many votes despite games played.

Nice to see him improve on his previous 5 games where he averaged 12 points on 42.2 TS% and couldn't guard a parking meter.

He was very good last night.

hilarious, and there were quite a few plays where he was clearly hit and no whistle was blown and the kid complained not one iota. He got beat on quite a bit last night between Howard and Morris who made sure he felt impact anytime he decided he had to foul Zion.

Have a hard time seeing Jaxson Hayes hang onto any kind of all rookie team. With Zion's return he's officially out of the rotation. 7 minutes per game and a DNP in his 9 games.

after starting off like gangbusters, Herro has actually quietly had a fairly poor rookie season. His TS% is down to 53, he is sitting there with a PER of only 11. despite the positional inconsistency, i'd think i'd want to throw Rui on there over Herro.
