Agreed.
I think the rest of the team, including coaching, will need to adjust as well.

Suddenly having a player who can bend defences in this way will open opportunity, but obviously in the short term it can junk up his scoring.

Next stage of growth. It's actually a great sign.

Two games left. He should be a top candidate for player of the month.

I hope everybody appreciates how special a thing this is. Going from a good player to a true superstar is rare enough, but for it to happen so quickly and furiously has been truly a sight to behold.

This changes EVERYTHING for the Celtics.

He's been improving for a while this season actually, it was just on the national stage vs. Kawhi when everyone noticed and he had a huge coming of age game. It all started vs. Kawhi though, the moment he transformed and Gods Will was born.

Considering he is also terrific at the other end of the floor, this **** is All-NBA 2nd team material. He could have a case for 3rd team if he continues this stellar play until April. The consistency question is being answered hard the past few weeks.

Lots of games still to be played, but here's the list of players in NBA history to average what Tatum is currently averaging (23+ ppg, 6.8+ rpg, 2.8+ apg) at his age or younger:
• Lebron James (2x)
• Kevin Durant
• Tracy McGrady
• Luka Doncic

That's it.

Next step for him is improve his distributing/facilitating and find a way to get to the line more. We've seen an uptick in the latter since he was announced as an All-Star (something around 7 FTA/game IINM).

Tatum is starting to grow rapidly. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes his game to another notch by the time playoff comes.

The Young Kaiser is putting the team on his shoulders.

But seriously - can we give Theis a shoutout? The guy doesn't get ANYWHERE near enough love for the work he does. He's been a freaking monster, even when it doesn't show in the stat book, all year.

It is going to be spectacular when JT learns to read defenses and learns when to attack, and when to make the pass. Right now, all he sees is buckets for himself. It's going to be insane when he starts making the right passes.

Also, FYI, Jayson Tatum is averaging 38 ppg, 5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 2 bpg, 62%, 63% 3PT ever since I bought his City jersey on Saturday. So......you all need to go out and buy his jersey today, so by this time next week, he will be averaging 60 ppg on 75% FG, 76% from 3PT.

Kobe, Carmelo, who was Jayson's other favorite player growing up--AI perhaps?

He seems at least to have taken Brad and Danny's emphasis on D very well. And last year we were fretting about him not showing alpha shot-taking instincts. Playmaking for others will be the next big step to come, probably by the postseason next year.

The third was LeBron.

Man I'm legit giddy about this "Tatum exploding into superstar" thing. I'm a grown ass man and seriously want to put the kid's poster up in my bedroom lol.

Which All-NBA team is he making? 3rd or 2nd? Giannis, Bron, Kawhi... and it's hard to think of any forwards playing better than him after that. And he's gotta be MIP too I just realized.
