Grizzlies are down 35-9 to start the game vs the Clippers.
Guess the Clips weren't kidding when they said they were mad.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
Good outcomes tonight with MEM loss, and PHO win. HOU can send them home with a loss on Wed night.
3 teams 3 losses back in the West.
SAC 4 back, and they're @ MEM Friday night.
PHO 5 back.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
Of MEM 25 remaining games only 9 are against nonplayoff teams:
Sac
@atl
Atl
-------
@por
@sas
@nop
Nop
Ny
@por
First 3, games in next 14 days when they will also be without injured Jackson.
Imo they can not win more than 35 games for us to get 10 the pick...that woul mean 7-18 in last 25 games.
All teams pho, sac, sas, por, nop would have to win 40 - 50 % of their games to finish better than Mem.
For instance the worst of the five teams pho right now is 24:34...going 12:12 gets them to 36:46.
So 7 imo is magical number of MEM wins.
On paper based on standings Mem will be favourites in next games:
Ny
Atl
Sac
Nop
Orl
All other games are against better opponents.
So imo there is a realistic chance to get 10th pick.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
It feels like deja vu
Watching losses and counting possible wins to hope for the best pick possible. Didnt turn out well last year, hopefully this year is much better.
Brooklyn 1.5 games behind on Memphis
Orlando 3 games behind on Memphis
Portland 2.5 games behind
New Orleans 3 games behind
San Antonio 3.5 games behind.
Alot can change in the next month.
Blazers, Pelicans and Spurs will all fight hard for the last spot, and with Memphis schedule cannot see them winning out. Just a question of how many teams pass memphis. I cannot see all three of them passing memphis because at some point a couple of those 3 teams will shut down, but Memphis wont.
Out East nets and Magic will fight to try and get out of a first round match against the Bucks or Raptors.

Not sure Memphis is really trying that hard now. Played 13 guys last night spreading out minutes, idk.

JJJ also out at least two weeks. Winslow, who they got for Crowder/Iggy/Hill, has not played for them still.

Never nice for players to get injured, but it really couldnt have come at a better time in relation to the pick. Especially since they both play the same position

After having good health most of the season, the injuries are piling up for Memphis.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
8 games in next 14 days will be huge, with both PF injured and games they could win if healthy...so if they go this stretch winless Yes I know I'm optimistic, but...if they go winless imo 10th pick is close.

This is due to both the injuries and difficulty of the Grizzlies' remaining schedule.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
I think teams 9-13 out west start pushing and fighting for playoffs.
Spurs
Trailblazer
Kings
Suns
Pelicans
And only 4 games separates the Memphis pick right now and 10th pick in the draft.

I'd agree but the NBA incentivized tanking for these teams with the new lottery odds. This is how the Lakers got the 4th pick last year; tanked hard the last month to get into the lottery then lucked out.

To be fair, 538 had us winning 37 games after Hayward got hurt in 17-18. But it makes sense to have that projection.
Teamrankings.com, which does not factor in injuries, has Memphis at 37 wins and a 16.6% chance at the postseason.

Let's go Rockets! Up 17 earlier. Just keep the pedal to the metal, baby!
EDIT: Fixed medal to metal thanks to Zoya. Don't want lazy typing to jinx this.

Or petal to the metal. Peddle to the meddle! Pedo to the meadow! In any case, beat the Grizz!

This scene from TWD, but instead of Lizzie, a pedo.

Re: Boston/Memphis/Milwaukee pick watch
with these injuries the Grizzlies are one of the least talented teams out there. This pick could be anywhere now, even kept by them if they get unlucky in the lottery.
