still having a good rookie year, his TS% doesn't tell the whole story because of the types of shots he takes, he's also been in and out of the lineup recently with injuries

This will be an interesting couple of weeks for Ja. All season long we've heard how Ja is really good at taking the backseat when needed and chipping in with winning plays as well as running the team efficiently. That was all fine and good when Memphis had several other players contributing offensively. Now, with key injuries and tough part of the schedule the team needs a lot more from Ja. He needs to carry a much larger share of the offense. Now we'll get to see how he measures up to that responsibility.

No Ben Simmons?

Seriously though, can you see Reddish sneak in with his late surge?

possibly...i think we can legit make a 4th team, this is turning into a deep class, didn't even include Reddish, Hunter, Paschall, Nunn, etc.

I wish Porter played more, but even in his limited time on the floor, he's been substantially better than Barrett IMO.

lol. this guy. Zion is constantly attacking the basket, he's big strong physical, attacking moving toward the hoop. with the way he plays the game and his wide body, it's nearly impossible to keep him off the line.

Also, Doncic? really? you're talking about a dude who shoots 9 FTs a game. He's 4th in the league in FTA per game. c'mon, man, you can do better than that.

Donci attacks the basket all the time and still doesn't get the calls Zion gets. Sometimes he can only rely on his crappy step back three because ref turn a blind eye to all the abuse he gets inside.

Zion is leading the league in shots per game inside of 5 feet with 13.1 per game. Second place is Giannis with 11.

Doncic is at 6.7. Doncic is shooting 20.4 shots per game, and 9 of those are 3's. Doncic is shooting 11.4 shots inside of the 3 point line TOTAL. ZIon is shooting 11.3 shots per game within 3 feet.

Zion is way bigger and stronger, a ton more explosive, and way more aggressive inside. There's honestly no way Doncic should be close in terms of fouls drawn, given the difference in contact, if that's your angle.

tldr: stop

what are you talking about? Zion shoots at the basket twice the rate of Doncic, hence the higher rate of FTs, Doncic also is way more finesse while Zion is way more physical...it's not really that complicated

also Doncic is not a rookie why are you talking about him in this thread?

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/fae7kn/the_knicks_may_become_the_first_team_in_nba/

2017 first round pick Frank Ntilikina: 36.4% (36.2% career)
2018 first round pick Kevin Knox: 37.0% (36.9% career)
2019 first round pick RJ Barrett: 38.7%

Obviously rookies tend to shoot pretty poorly but this is still pretty funny.

Don't believe all rookie teams have position requirements. Hachimura might make it over Barrett. they have essentially the same counting stats with Rui being significantly more efficient.

Excited to see what Jaxson Hayes will do. Gave us a glimpse, then went on a rant.

Rui Hachamura as well. Son can hoop!

If you can't understand why a guy like Zion gets fouled more than a guard, then you should probably watch volleyball instead.

Hayes is clearly not ready. He needs to put some weight first. But the potential is definitely there.

All three Hawks rookies played well tonight and the Hawks looked like a real NBA team out there.

Reddish:
26 PTS, 4 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK, 64.3 FG%, 66.7 3PT%
Hunter:
18 PTS, 10 REB, 2 AST, 60.0 FG%, 50% 3PT%
Fernando:
9 PTS, 9 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 50.0 FG%

Charlotte has three 2nd round/undrafted rookies off the bench that all look promising

The Martin twins and Jalen McDaniels

Cody Martin in particular plays great defense and can distribute. It's so nice to have someone who can draft players

In 2 years Mitch has drafted Miles Bridges, Devonte Graham, PJ Washington, Cody Martin, and Jalen McDaniels, or 5 of the Hornets 8 rotation players right now

Thoughts on Reddish ending up better than RJ? (Not that they have to be compared)

i still like RJ better long term, but good to Cam playing well after so many people have been hating him, he's def super smooth, he can be Paul George if he wanted to.

Cam's biggest improvements is even when his three ball is not falling he is starting to get inside to score and to the line more. This was his first great shooting 3 Point game since the All Star break but he still had 20 PTS, 16 PTS, and 14 PTS in three of the four previous games after the break. 10 PTS in the other.

Long story short, Reddish is beginning to show progress with scoring even when his jumper is not dropping. DeAndre Hunter is starting to hit the boards at a great clip. He is averaging 6.8 rebounds in 8 games this month.

Just posing a question. What makes you take RJ over Cam when Cam's defensive potential seems way higher than RJ's. Cam's shooting is also trending in a better direction that RJ's. If Cam is a better shooter and defender, why would you take RJ or do you believe RJ will be the better scorer and defender?
