Re: Around the NBA - All Star Weekend and beyond
How the hell did the Knicks not get Zion Williamson after finishing with the worst record in the NBA last season?
The new NBA draft process is bulls**t! The Pelicans lost an all-star only to replace him with a future all-star.
Hopefully, RJ can develop into a solid NBA player for the Knicks. Zion looks like the true ROY so far.

Coby White last 3 games:
35 (13-21) with 6 threes
33 (11-18) with 5 threes
33 (11-22) with 7 threes
Incredibly impressive anyway you slice it.

Make sure to watch the Denver game. My personal free agent target Jerian Grant with the career high...

Terance Davis looks great. But Nurse makes him look good too.
There are also lot of guys on the court for both teams, Toronto and Milwaukee, who had already been labeled busts, but strive in adjusted roles now. That's great coaching too. Think about it: Brook Lopez, Hollis-Jefferson, Marvin Williams and even Ibaka, George Hill, Kyle Lowry to an extent.

I read an article recently where it was noted the Raptors spend a crapton on developmental coaches (and the Knicks, not much)...
Can't tell if it's true, but it wouldn't be surprising.

Re: Around the NBA - All Star Weekend and beyond
A lot of it has to be accredited to the fact that Toronto plays in a very solid, yet modern enough system and have a very disciplined, creative coach. They never panic late in the shot clock and routinely play out their possessions on many, many extra passes. That's something every player can learn if (big IF) asked to.
The talent level of their team according to draft position is actually laughable. They might as well be a G-league team... Fourth quarter lineups comprised of Lowry, Davis, Thomas, Siakam, Boucher, FVV, Anunouby, Ibaka. I mean WTF, who?

Yep. Going through growing pains doesn’t always work, but when it does, your franchise is just so much better off.
