GAME DAY, BALA! GAME 57: SPURS VS. MAVS, 26-2-2020, 7:30PM (CT)

We are very finally back in the warm welcome of home. A ninety-minute practice that focused on details to improve our play should go a long way to protecting our court. We are shorthanded but have young call-ups that, along with the rest of the team, have something to prove.

So, LMA is out, and KJ is back after a terrific 31-point performance for Austin. Hopefully Luka gets his first minutes with the big club!

So not though all statistics are reliable but according to NBA.com we have 3 of the very worst defenders in the league with Lyles, Forbes and Marco on our team.

Add in Mills and Derozan and you don't need to be Einstein to realise why we can't stop anyone.

I'd like to see those, actually. No doubt about Bryn and Beli, but Trey is surprising.

We're without LMA inside so that's not helping our D effort either. Still, we're making a game of it. I like it when we play pissed off if we channel it the right way. Their two big stars each have 3 fouls. We have to zero in on that and capitalize.

You're so right about Murray and his lack of athleticism compared to everyday defenders.

He had no lift on almost all of his drives and runners today. Never looked like making a shot.

Bryn is just brainless and an absolute negative player and needs to go back to G League.

Lonnie still looking way too raw and without any idea how to finish or what decision to make. He needs consistent big minutes if not starter minutes for the rest of the year to see if experience will change that.

I still haven't seen anyone so overrated in 25+ years of watching the game as Doncic. He travels with every step back, pushes off constantly on drives and isn't that good a shooter.

The league's marketing and current reffing has made an above average player a star. It's mind boggling.

On paper he did his job on O, but team high -20 really tells the other side of the story. **** moron tonight. Yelled at him so much. I hope he felt it. It was cathartic to see Pop yelling at him with the classic pointing to temples to pay attention. And even Bryn's "I know I screwed up but nobody is more mad than I am" body language helped him. He was wrong. We and Pop were more mad. And so he got yanked. So satisfying.

Proud of our fight tonight. Good to see the moxie. Felt like it awoke the right kind of aggression and I hope it carries over.

Not sure what you have been watching for the past 25+ years.

He has nothing on any of the great players. Nothing.

He makes his living by pushing off defenders, has no speed and gets 'by' defenders with moving screen after moving screen, travels dozens of times every game, isn't a great shooter and is simply benefiting from the way the current era is called and the way the league wants to push him to un-earned stardom.

I'm not saying he doesn't have skill, but he is a second or likely third best player on a great team.

It's mind boggling how he can be rated one of the best in the game. Makes me realise this league is getting closer and closer to a WWE stage show as ever.
