just waiting for Clarkson to come in, score 10 points in a row and get the game back on track...
I always had respect for Quin and thought he understood the game, his rotations, minutes distribution has been TRASH.

Well, at least it wasn't the terrible defense this time. It was a throwback, can't throw the ball in the ocean blowout.

Mitchell + O'Neale finally gave some life to this team. Great push here.

How that was not a foul?;)
And Conley can't pass. The more you know with Piter Griffin

Conley with 0 assists, Rudy with 1 rebound.

Rudy isn't competing. I get that he's mad because they don't pass him the ball, but that's not an excuse for quitting on your team. Beyond frustrated with his selfishness right now.

Am I the only have the feeling that Mike Conley is just playing like he is in his backyard, playing pick up ball?

Can we just tank our way out of playoffs?

If we play like this, yes...but then we lose our pick to Memphis, lol

That wouldn't help since we would lose our draft pick because of the idiotic Conley trade. Our front office pretty much had the worst offseason imaginable. The only saving grace was Bogs and I'm pretty much done with him as well. He is just a one dimensional lazy player that needs to go this offseason.@ndrew wrote:Can we just tank our way out of playoffs?

Something is going on with this team... seems like they've just given up on competing. Never been this disappointed by any team I've rooted for.

All this talk of Conley, Ingles and O'Neale and who should be the one to come off the bench but in all honesty it should be Bogdanovic. He is by far the biggest issue out there. The ball sticks to him worse than any other player in the team given the rest of our guards are actually capable of making a play whilst defensively he is ruining nearly every possession on that end. Its time we simply match up with the opposition and make each player accountable for their man, far too much switching going on and it is giving the opposition what they want which Bogey is the biggest culprit at this.

Look at the lines tonight... Mitchell with 20 more shots than anyone else on the team along with 22 more points than the next highest scorer who happened to be Conley who's washed up. I can't help but wonder if part of this team's problem is being sick and tired of watching Mitchell ball? The guy took 36% of all Jazz shots tonight and had as many attempts at the rim as the other 4 starters combined - could Jazz players be getting disgruntled standing around watching Mitchell play 1 on 5 most of the time?

Re: Game 58: Boston Celtics (40-17) @ Utah Jazz (36-21)
This team is just too selfish to be saved. They want the ball more, they want more shots, they want more minutes, they want to start....And when they don't get what they want the quit on their team and play selfishly, which only compounds the problem.
DIdn't think I'd ever say this about Rudy, but he is the biggest culprit right now. His teammates are really doing him dirty, but that doesn't give him the right to quit on his team.
I honestly don't know how the problem gets solved. How do you save a team that refuses to compete?

Re: Game 58: Boston Celtics (40-17) @ Utah Jazz (36-21)
After watching the game:
1. Well, that flip-flop with the lineup didn't work. Now what? Ingles continued to struggle in his bench role, as expected, and Conley was once again not good. And the Celtics really took advantage of Conley's poor defense, they went after him a lot.
2. On the subject of Conley--despite his 15 points, he wasn't good. He's become a target for the opposing teams as a defender, and his points almost feel like empty points. He does not elevate this team in any way and other than his shaky offense he contributes nothing, sad to say. He just feels like a role player who happens to have a good shooting night once in a while.
3. Gobert was outplayed by Theis. He's not looked good since coming back from the allstar break. Also, he's got to find a way to punish small-ball teams (this is on the team and the coach as well). So far small-ball really messes him up.
4. We lose at home to a team on the second game of a back-to-back who's missing one of its best players (Walker) once again. The Jazz have been incredibly lucky this season--they are living off the cupcacke schedule against sub .500 teams that allowed them to win 19 out of 21 games or so, and Conley's injury during that stretch probably helped. Other than that, they've been quite bad, while facing average and good teams who were suffering injuries--which was very fortunate--and still lose to most of them. Quite frankly, with a tougher schedule and\or lack of injuries to other teams like Portland, this team would have been in serious danger of missing the playoffs.
5. The Jazz should seriously consider if they want to ride the Gobert (supermax) and Mitchell (max) core for the next 5 years. It feels like they are unable to put together a better than an above-average team around them, and they'll have fewer assets and no cap space to do it with going forward.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.
