Re: Coby White
He plays smart, nice passing ability and can shoot the 3. No doubt he goes top 20.

Re: Coby White
I put together this Coby White video of his offense vs NC State. I did a defensive video for White as well which will probably be up tomorrow.

Getting rodney stuckey vibes..honestly don't think hes a lotto talent but this is a weak draft depth wise.

That's actually an interesting one. I don't remember Knight as a prospect or before the injuries quite well enough for this to be accurate, but I would say that Knight was probably a slightly better shooter and I believe in particular off the dribble? (relative to White's poor OTD numbers). I think White's quicker, more shifty with the dribble, and a better finisher at the hoop. White can also play defense, Knight couldn't iirc.
But definitely an interesting comparison, both skinny combo guards, not really long, shot-makers, similar archetype there.

Knight wanted the scoring/on-ball guard mantle, Coby is a team 1st guy

He is Jamal Crawford/ bigger Lou Williams for me. I want to see him run with Sexton for Cleveland.

Bump.....?
Reminds me so much of way less arrogant Starbury, with lesser hops but better shooting, and a functioning brain. That’s the comp I like best. Even though his assists are low, I still like what I see when he does find guys. Great timing/accuracy & deftness on his passes
His speed/acceleration/deceleration is otherworldly; the one & only thing preventing him from getting into the pain at will is his high handle, which can obviously be fixed. Other than that, he is blindingly fast
He has brilliant form/release & can stroke the three from pretty much anywhere behind the arc
He needs to start next to Zach ASAP. Chicago’s season is lost, so let their potential starting backcourt going forward learn how to play together
Chicago may have struck gold with this kid

Re: Coby White
this guy is so fun to watch, the stop-and-go is elite, uber quick, has a lot of shot versatility...still not sure if he can be a starter long term because he's just not there yet as a playmaker but a really good 6th man should be his base.

I’m on the “throw Coby into the fire” train. If they want he & Lavine to be their backcourt going forward, they need to get Burn together. They should be tanking with the bench & developing their eventual starters. They’re bringing him off the bench in an effort to keep the Bulls in games, but I’m on board the tank train. The season is a lost one
The quarter he & Lavine played together last night was one the most successful of the season thus far

Re: Coby White
I’m curious what people here think of LaVine because early on when LaVine was putting up random big games his first few years was seen as a 6th man type of the future. Coby White, in terms of people projecting him at such a young age is the same since he lacks defense in the same way and is a scorer who pulls up. Those of you who say LaVine would be an all-star if he was on another team should put more value in White who is still super young.

Re: Coby White
Even if Coby never becomes like a top tier playmaker, he’s long enough to start next to any guard theoretically. I’m a fan.

Good comp
The PG skills are not there, but he can score in bunches.
Reminds me of monte ellis
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Re: Coby White
He might be the streakiest player I've seen in a while - we'll have to see if it's because of his inexperience - he's still a teenager but I think that's part of his makeup. He's on a tear right now, but it could be that he'll stink the next 5 games. He's a good scorer and has excellent speed, but I'm not sold on the rest of his game. His passing has always seemed sloppy to me, and he gets out-quicked a lot when defending. He's a big guard but doesn't have the length or explosion to play like a big guard - maybe the hair helps. Good young player, but I don't know that he's a PG that will work well with Lavine.

Re: Coby White
Not sure what space there will be in the team for him going forward, but I like him a lot (he was my outsider pick for ROY, just a little too raw it seems).
He's not really a PG though, he really needs to be the secondary ball handler, the 3P% is there that means this shouldn't be a problem.

It's a problem on defense potentially.

I don’t think they have much in common, and I never ever thought of Lavine as a 6th man. A guy with an offensive skill set & physical ability like that should be a starter. I always thought he’d be a star somewhere when I saw him begin to put it together just prior to the acl tear. I don’t view White as a 6th man either, he’s got way too much potential on both sides of the ball, and I’m positive that if he were on Miami, Utah, etc that he’d be a ROY candidate
White is a very different player & so much more skilled than Lavine was at that age. Comparing them at the same age, white is already a better defender, has higher IQ on both sides of the ball, a better passer, much more team oriented, and just has far superior basketball instincts in general. Lavine was picked so low for reason, he was just an AAU freak athlete without any real discernible basketball skills
