If Ben ends up out for a long period of time with this back thing, I'm scared of the potential domino effect of Embiid overexerting himself for that stretch. We all know how that story ends.

Can't go away from the plan with Jo just because Ben is out. And if you end up falling to the 6th seed because of that, it might even end up helping you advance further in the playoffs anyway.

This Embiid is different is than last seasons. He was being mentioned In the early MVP running 2018-19 campaign...Long shot? Yes. But it tells you how well he was playing then.

In the beginning of last season, Embiid was playing the best of his career. The Celtics just embarrassed the sixers in the playoffs in the season prior and you can tell Embiid went to work that offseason. He was motivated and in shape and had more spacing to work with within that squad than now on this team.

I compared his highlights from last season to this season and it immediately confirmed what we believed to be the issue with Embiid this season and the surrounding fit of players this season.

Some Notables I picked up pointing to the obvious. He is atleast 10 pounds too heavy, maybe still not in top shape and he has no room to work with this team spacing issues.
2.37 I don't think I have seen Embiid with this much room to work since the beginning of last season. No surprise with who is on the floor with him Reddick , Covington, Dario and Markelle in ( Ben's Dunker spot).
2.4926.16 Look how quick Embiid is from the top of the key to the hoop guarding elite level ball handlers and stopping them. I don't think I have seen him do this once this season, last season you can look at his frame and see he was leaner which helped his quickness.

24.50-25.05 I know it's the Cavs but it's not really about the opposing team it's about how quick and explosive Embiid looked in these two game winning plays; Putback dunk to Game winning block. This is not 4 years ago this was just last season.

29.25-29.40A few of us mentioned how he should be using his quickness against big slower players like Gasol and Lopez . Plays like this show you he has that capable but this season it's near impossible with the crowding and Embiids lost quickness from weight gain. I don't want to hear that he can't get back to 270 he's only 25 not 35. Let him play out this lost season healthy and get back to work in the offseason.

16.15 To add to how you can tell he was In optimal weight and condition last season. There is no way in he'll you would see Embiid making this succession of plays from end to end this season.

2018-2019 Highlights

I also compared his highlights from the 1st half of this season to last and you can immediately see this season a change in his frame , slower movements, less explosive, opposing teams having atleast 4 feet in the paint(the box) , defenders do not respect our shooters like last season so constant crowding , no movement off the ball. Check it out

2019-2020 Highlights from this season

Good News: The issues are fixable, Embiid and Ben will be disappointed and come back better

Bad News: They are not fixable this season, F.O will have a lot of work to do....Huge contracts, Lack of Asets...

Does Embiid read the board?

In his postgame interview he said something about fans putting him in the trade machine.

It's a bad look for laughing at someone commenting about Embiid using the trade machine?

Major exhale. Just hope when he's reevaluated in a week the update won't be "he's progressing and will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks."

With us being a turrible road team and missing our two best players maybe the LA teams decide to rest some starters.

Posting just lol when the guy was just injured the day you posted it is a bad look. Beside, you didn't even quote the post where the trade machine comment was made. You are clearly just backtracking on what you said.

He's been using a half/baby hook shot a little more lately. I think that's the game changing post move for him. If he can utilize that more rather than the multi dribble spins, up fakes, and shoulders into chest bully ball he will be more efficient and will conserve energy.

Yup. Been saying this. Even guys like shaq have been using hook shots.

His turnaround jumper at the left baseline has also been money.

Any update on embiid. They said one week status update. Or one week from Friday? Either way. He’s not likely to play on west coast

Season Ticket renewal date is the 10th. Expect good new before then or bad news after.
