I went to the hobos' forum casually to look through it, and to my curiosity opened up a thread titled "battle of LA..." and read through it a bit and it is just surreal..

They have a whole huge thread dedicated to bashing the team, Lebron , the management, and us (calling us delusional , low IQd, psychotic, etc ..i mean i can comment about anybody saying blanket statements but that is another discussion) and it is just flooded w their emotional laser -focus on every detail (mis-focus or mis interpretation mostly) of us ...like totally psychotic obsession on their part lol.

Some posts are youtube link after youtube link,or twitter link after twitter link all in succession so as to have any grapple to bash us to take a step higher i guess. Just a bit frightening.

Personally, I think from watching kind of a lot of Pelicans games this season, that Hart is sneaky-borderline-dirty... Especially when he plays LeBron... I think he legit doesn't like LeBron because of how the whole trade season went down. But he pulls a lot of the same stuff on Harden and others too... Leads with his knees/elbows, throws himself into guys, goes for their legs in the air, just enough to mess them up but not enough to really stand out... He does that Bowen thing sometimes too and get's a foot under guys..

I'm becoming less of a fan this season... Almost at the point where I just don't like him.

So Giannis is starting to become mini-Embiid, with his recent runnings at the mouth...
Embiids personality is a huge red flag for me at this point... He hasn't achieved **** yet, but he talks like he's LeBron...
From a potential Laker target standpoint, I really wish Giannis would STFU until he has a ring already... I don't trust guys who work the other way. Not that it matters too much for us, but maybe...

Fans of second place teams in a two team market act like this.....

This is a franchise that is owned by a guy who could buy Staples a dozen times yet still has to rent their "home court". They have a good team, no doubt, but that obviously doesn't build a respectable fan base. I just glanced at that thread and it must have been largely written by some very "small" people. Rational thinking is not a prerequisite to posting there.... I'll say that much.

Flippers can afford to hire a troll army so that they have something to write about in their threads. Not real fans anyways. Just paid by the amount of content they can cram into the space.

Legit hilarious. Thanks for linking it. I will never understand the clipper-lakers hate, mostly from the Lakers.

You'd think the clippers were the Celtics, spurs or even the suns.

It's weird to see. The hobo nickname really makes me laugh. Just seems random.

I'm really thankful most of my fandom growing up was just me watching sports with my family and not having to experience much of sports tribalism.

Hobo-Squaters nickname came from Kilroy I believe. The meaning is not random... it has to do with the Clippers home court choice. If you want to use someone else home court then don't require that they cover their banners at your home games. Maybe the "other" team's fans might be more friendly.

Actually the Clips are worse. I don’t like either the Celtics or the Clips but at least I respect the Celtics a little bit because they’ve actually won something.

So going by that logic, if the clippers win, will you gain respect for them or no?

I would. I already respect the team and the players. I think it is a great team and a true contender for the title this year.
I speak for myself as a fan though when I say that if my team hasn’t won anything , I personally wouldn’t mouth off too much.

That's fair, I guess.

Been watching NBA all this time and never saw this"rivalry"coming

I still view it in a hilarious light. The players don't seem to consider it a rivalry themselves. Maybe that will change should they have to go through each other in the playoffs but as of now, I don't see it.

As one player said (forgot who it was) there's no rivalry. They're just another team in the way, no different from the other contenders in the way

Harden and Houston started the **** last year which people keep overlooking when they said he didn't deserve his MVP, when they posted stats and articles talking about how James was more important. I mean HArden opened pandoras box to the bs he is getting because he voiced what others have felt before. Do you not think JAson Kidd thinks to himself I'm a gold medalist, a champion, all star, led a team to back to back finals from the lotto with lesser talent and this MF Nash has two MVPs yet never scratched a finals with all the talent he was given? Do you not think Kobe rolled his eyes at NAsh getting a mvp or even Russ getting it with a bottom seed because he was "revolutionary"? Or Shaq didn't think where are his other ones?

Giannis went in on him twice after that **** he started. Giannis went there because he could go there and because Harden has made a career of choking and talking about being a hamstring away, when reality is he chokes every playoffs when the refs don't gift him games. He is not lying when he said pick out Harden on D, hell the Warriors made a point of it even without KD in game 6 last year. Multiple teams have made a point to do it.

Giannis will get heat if they miss the finals this year especially if he gets the paint walled off and can't play well like KAwhi did him last year. But the fact is he is what 26 or something while HArden is 30 and a proven choke who took a shot at him

Harden's step back game is such an eye sore. I want this Houston team to be Westbrook's. Tucker and Covington really made this small ball work for Russ

It became a rivalry when Balmer took over and he and Doc started throwing shade at the Lakers, despite the fact they were renting staples from us (basically)... It's more of a rivalry because Balmer is clearly trying to promote the Clippers as the premier team in LA. He has the express purpose of trying to replace the Lakers as the biggest draw in LA.

So on one hand, the Clippers team has never really been a threat on the court before this season, and even though they are this season, Kawhi and Paul George just aren't the kind of personalities that can unite a city like LA... So even if they win this season, it's going to be awkward for them, and they still won't be the premier team in LA... Yet.
On the other hand, you still have the Clippers covering jerseys and **** when they play at Staples... Weak.

That and nobody was more happy than Balmer to help Kawhi and UnkleDick sandbag the Lakers this free agency...

Personally, I think they should STFU until they get their own house, like grown folks...

Well, Clippers and Lakers are paying rent because it's really the Kings arena so that dig about the Clippers renting from Lakers is false...

AEG owns the arena and kings. They also own a large portion of the Lakers. Second to the buss Family. If the buss were ever to sell, they have the rights on first dibs to buy.

They the Lakers technically own the arena. Lol
