Coming to the realization that most people don't really care about basketball, just need a forum to vent and complain online about something (and it most times being basketball) has been a revelation.

I'm growing more uncertain if people actually like the players or sport, or just want to trash everything.

IDK I complain a lot about basketball... But that's because the NBA is trash now. If defense was still allowed I'd be a lot more silent, but others would be complaining. I guess what I'm saying is that people aren't just looking to complain about basketball for no reason, they actually are just upset a game they love and have always watched isn't up to their standards anymore.

This is the best basketball's been in a while to me. I've loved the game and players but reading a lot here I get that Harden doesn't pass, Giannis just barrels at the rim, Kawhi lucked into 2 finals, Westbrook's just a freak athlete who can't shoot, Lebron's not MJ, Jokic and Zion are fat, Embiid's a big baby, etc.

IMO this generation has some of the most skill we've seen of late and players are doing a lot more on court than ever. Off ball movement is generally at a higher level than it's been, and its making things tougher on defenses in that way. If the NBA is really trash, I'm always sort of unsure why people (especially if you think it's trash) are still watching. I don't normally watch a product I don't like.

Edit: Also this Pocari stuff looks interesting.

I remember people bitching about Steve Nash not playing defense/a choker, KG being a fake tough-guy, Iverson being........Iverson, Kobe being a team-killing ballhog etc. Now people look back at that generation like they are the bees knees.

I also remember people saying teams didn't play defense back when the average game was 98-93 or some **** like that.

Well that's your opinion. In other people's opinion they're basically watching offensive fouls go uncalled half the possessions, watching damn near 1/3rd of the league lose games on purpose, and seeing the lack of diversity in playstyle and they don't like it. It's definitely better than it's been in a while but I've been complaining about the level of play leaguewide since 2017.

Why do the Knicks still sell out games? It's not because people like the quality of play on the court I'll tell you that as someone that watches most of their games.

Edit: Also this Pocari stuff looks interesting.

I got a mix pack in my cabinet I need to use.

Don't know about the Knicks selling out, but apparently people find something entertaining. I know if I didn't find the NBA entertaining I sure wouldn't be watching. Starting to see more diverse play now (heck Houston is the weirdest style I can recall in a few years) and just disagree on the offensive fouls part. Defense is still played at a very high level, offense is too.

PSA: WNBA league pass is $17 FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.

I've never been a huge fan of the league because I can never find their games on (non-NBA)TV. But if I can watch all the games for the price of an expensive meal, then I'll gladly become a diehard fan of some team.

Bought it last year, good interface and works well too.

I agree. Didn't enjoy the general league much in 2018 and 2019 (might just be the Warriors made everything boring) as I did from 2014-17 but it's made a comeback this year.

Almost every game you have a chance at seeing someone do something spectacular. Probably the entire West besides the Warriors gives you a reason to watch, and at least 11-12 East teams. The HAWKS are exciting thanks to Trae even if they suck.

I got to see Trae Young in person a few days ago. 10/10 experience, would highly recommend. The stats don't really do him justice, since the workload he has on offense is actually even more insane than his usage rate would make you think. The Hawks offense completely died whenever he wasn't in the game. Even when he wasn't touching the ball, his mere presence drew the defense's attention and opened things up for his teammates.

I don't mind the league overall, it's extremely talented and full of interesting teams. The only thing I dislike is refs allowing to travels and offensive fouls every possession. I prefer watching guys doing impressive things when they have to adjust to rules, not when rules are adjusted to them. Harden is so crafty he would find a way to beat defenders without traveling. Giannis is a hard worker, he wouldn't suck without three steps drives.

I also dislike some rules like non-charge circle or defensive three second, but most people probably disagree with me.

I like the non charge circle cuz posters lmao

I def agree uncalled travels do happen more now but they basically took the gather step rule and abused the hell out of it lmao

I do think calls in generally have been really off, and not all guys in the league are reffed the same (lebron v harden being the easiest way to see this lol). Usually it evens out in the playoffs. Idk if its the best its been since 2016 was epic and tbh the 2000s seems hella lit to watch altho i wasnt a fan at the time but "the nba suckz" crew is a bit much

Ngl tho i appreicate theyre good and hardens an iso god but holy crap I hate watching the rockets and most people i know hate them too lmao

I'm from Europe and I'm a fan of more "pure" basketball (that's why I love 1970s) but it doesn't mean that NBA sucks now. It's still amazing league, I wouldn't watch it otherwise.
