Monty is not a better coach than Igor, only his roster is better (and more experienced).

Igor got a bad rap and was the scapegoat for the culmination of all the tanking we've done the past half decade but he did appear to have lost the locker room during the season and never regained it

We've got about a quarter of the season left and it seems like Monty still has the ear of the team. That being said, having veterans on the team and good locker room guys like Oubre, Baynes and Rubio does help stablise the team when we're going through rough patches. Also compared to the last few seasons, I don't think we've really had really really bad stretches aside from that 8 game losing streak in late Dec which we've come out from relatively intact (morale/chemistry wise).

I guess my point is that I'm not sure if Monty is the same level coach as Monty since Igor did exhibit quite a few assistant coach ceiling traits while Monty does appear to be more head coach material.

I don't think Monty's a good coach, but he is better than Igor, which is not saying much.

We should have retained Triano for a few more years, he seemed to be best coach for player development.

Booker isn’t a finished product. He’s got another leap or two left in him.

Igor won hardware with a heavy underdog in a tough tournament. He just wasn't culturally as much accepted as an eastern european coach in an american league as Monty is, especially with his playing background, which Igor did not have.
For example, guys listen to the .5 offense now, and try (plus we have guys who are capable of playing at an NBA level), while when Igor was preaching the same sht pretty much noone was trying, nor was capable.

*Edit: also, if Monty was so overwhelmingly better than Igor, then he should have prepared his team to put up effort against two of the worst teams in the league on our home floor, at a point of the season where we could have gone on a playoff push...

The offense needs to run through Rubio.

Add a solid 3point shooter at the 4 and he'll bet open looks to everyone around. Saric has shot 32% from 3 for the season, and his best trait is that he is a... shooter.

NBA refs are not complete idiots/control freaks out to take control of a game and make sure a certain team wins. We can decrease whining once we take human error out of sports judging. Start with the home plate umpire as we automate these guys out of jobs.

Ayton needs to be immune from the 0.5 second thing and needs to be more selfish. I'm rewatching the Suns season right now and there are numerous times where Rubio gets the ball to Ayton on the block and he either turns and immediately shoots a 12 footer or immediately passes it to a guy standing on the arc in a completely neutral position. What's even the point of posting up if that's all you're allowed to do? If you hold the ball for a couple of seconds the defense will react and probably bring a double so that you can create an advantage somewhere. But if you're gonna catch it and immediately pass it out there isn't even time for the defenders to react and get out of position.
