Cleveland in a close game with Miami with a couple minutes left. Wheres Drummond? On the bench where he belongs after almost playing 24minutes.
Another awesome game 5-14 13pts 6boards 1blk 1stl 1to he did go 2-4 from 3pt lol
Cavs just took em to OT. Drummond on the bench where he belongs.
edit-
cavs win they chose to use Thompson down the stretch rather then Drummond. Wise decision, you play Drummond big minutes you get historic franchise losses.

We're 0-7 since trading him. There are other factors, he has his warts, but I still reject the notion we'd have been better without him all season. He was making a horrific team not as bad.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Yeah, we're a pretty similar team to the one that Drummond played on this year given the fact that Blake, Reggie, and Luke have missed so many games. I recall folks saying we'd start winning more games once we got rid of Drummond.
It is pretty clear we are worse without him.

This isnt the same team since we traded him. We bought out Jackson and Morris. Rose was injured 3 of those 7 games and then came back rusty and played low minutes.
Not sure what team you were watching this season that looked good with Drummond, all I've seen all season is awful basketball. Wood has completely outplayed him all season.
Cavs won again two in a row. Drummond benched for Thompson in one. Next game no Drummond at all.

I don't think anyone claimed we would win more without dre. We just weren't going to win much with him, so why pay him $25+ to not win.
Also, we have really turned the keys over to they young guys. We could be squeaking out the occasional win with guys like kief and reggie, but thankfully we are playing the young guys the bulk of the minutes.

It's funny. I had pretty much this exact messaging typed out but got sidetracked yesterday and forgot to hit submit.
One thing I was looking at that I found interesting: we are rebounding about the same without him in totality.
Opponents rebounding numbers are actually closer to ours now (we are still getting outrebounded but now by less than when we had Dre).
Our scoring is down significantly (like 8 or 9 points) but we are allowing pretty much the fewest average points allowed thos month as well.
Interesting how you subtract a 17 rebound guy and still see comparable numbers afterwards...

I always said that Dre wasn’t really getting rebounds the team couldn’t get, and that a lower scoring, better defensive center at a much lower salary would have an equal impact. No surprise that points scored has dropped, but also no surprise that points allowed has dropped as well. And I’m not going to do the math because I don’t care enough, but I’d be willing to bet that the Pistons average points differential hasn’t gotten worse since Dre left.

The goal posts are being moved here a little bit. I don't recall anyone saying that this team would win more games without Drummond.
The argument was always that the Pistons, moving forward, would never win with Drummond as its best player or as a focal point- either basketball-wise or financial-wise.
