Lonnie's done so much community work already for a young guy just getting his feet wet in the Spurs culture, and he continued it with hosting a toy drive last month:

Coinciding with the first ever Indigenous Night during the game on January 19th, there will be an auction to benefit related groups and organizations. Well thought out and coordinated campaign that honours Patty and local Indigenous groups:

NEWLY BRANDED SPURS GIVE TEAMS UP WITH THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO TO INVEST $1 MILLION TO RESTORE PARKS ACROSS THE CITY
After 30 Years of Community Work, Spurs Nonprofit Unveils New Name and Mission
Spurs Give, formerly known as Silver & Black Give Back, in partnership with the City of San Antonio today announced their new $1 million project “Play SA”, a four-year commitment to renovate parks and community basketball courts across San Antonio. The multi-year project was unveiled after remarks from Spurs Sports & Entertainment Chairman Peter J. Holt, SS&E CEO RC Buford, Mayor Ron Nirenberg and San Antonio District 2 City Councilwoman Jada Andrews-Sullivan followed by a groundbreaking ceremony led by Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge at Woodard Park.

“It is crucial that families have accessible, secure spaces to engage in physical activity,” said Buford. “We are excited to team up with the City of San Antonio to inspire generations of families to stay active together through Play SA.”

The donation to the San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department will help rebuild, refurbish, and update parks and indoor and outdoor basketball courts across the city to help foster a safer play environment and a healthier and active lifestyle by 2024. The upcoming overhaul will include the renovation and restoration of parks in all 10 districts of San Antonio based on community needs, starting with a new basketball court at Woodard Park.

In its 30 years of service to the community, Spurs Give has focused on supporting youth sports and youth-led service programs throughout San Antonio and South and Central Texas by investing over $28 million back into the community and has impacted over 420,000 kids and coaches across 23 sites. With its new name, Spurs Sports & Entertainment will continue to be the largest annual donor to Spurs Give. The nonprofit will continue to aspire to raise $1.5 million a year in donor support to ensure the new programs’ success.

I've lost track of how many great community deeds Lonnie has taken part in - a testament to his good character. Add another one to the list. Imagine going to school on a random day and a cool young Spur not only shows up and hangs out but also gives you a laptop. Such a cool initiative:

Jakob helped RC and Spurs Give in a donation announcement for Chef San Antonio, a wonderful program that
offers engaging, hands-on classes in Teaching Kitchens throughout San Antonio. Each class is designed to encourage families to cook more at home, build confidence in the kitchen, and embrace whole foods as the body’s best medicine.

The Spurs hosted their annual dinner to support the San Antonio Food Bank recently. It's always fun to see players as more than players, interacting with people off the court. Jakob and DJ look to have made quite the impression:

Tough times doesn't begin to describe current events. Hard to manage emotions all the things happening now, but in the spirit of focusing on the good, some Spurs have been doing just that. It doesn't cover over or distract from what is happening, but the good has its place.

First, Patty has created the Team Mills Foundation, a natural progression from his ongoing endevours to honour his roots and bridge cultural divides with understanding and outreach. Team Mills Foundation's core values are Family, Environment, Culture, Pathways and Opportunities, Empowering Women, Multicultural and Diversity.

Recently, Patty tweeted about National Reconciliation Week:
