It became a rivalry when Balmer took over and he and Doc started throwing shade at the Lakers, despite the fact they were renting staples from us (basically)... It's more of a rivalry because Balmer is clearly trying to promote the Clippers as the premier team in LA. He has the express purpose of trying to replace the Lakers as the biggest draw in LA.
So on one hand, the Clippers team has never really been a threat on the court before this season, and even though they are this season, Kawhi and Paul George just aren't the kind of personalities that can unite a city like LA... So even if they win this season, it's going to be awkward for them, and they still won't be the premier team in LA... Yet.
On the other hand, you still have the Clippers covering jerseys and **** when they play at Staples... Weak.
That and nobody was more happy than Balmer to help Kawhi and UnkleDick sandbag the Lakers this free agency...
Personally, I think they should STFU until they get their own house, like grown folks...
Well, Clippers and Lakers are paying rent because it's really the Kings arena so that dig about the Clippers renting from Lakers is false...
They the Lakers technically own the arena. Lol

AEG owns 30 percent of the Lakers and give up percentages on all ticket sales to AEG so still, they're paying to use it as well...lol
