Why do you have to mess with Spike to have a new face of the Knicks?

Lol

Lmao true. I dunno maybe they look at him as part of the losing tradition lol.

Sadly it wouldn’t suprise me if Dolan blamed Spike Lee for all the Knicks woes

Why can't the other owners just vote him off like they did Donald Sterling? Didn't one franchise owner say the league is better when the Knicks are good?

Oh that's right, they only do that when the bottom line is crossed. Dolan being a petulant man-child empowers other owners because:

1) Knicks are the most valuable team in the NBA. That revenue and valuation gets split off to the owners' pockets.
2) Dolan being Dolan keeps big free agents away from the Knicks and gravitate to their franchise as long as they have a winning culture. Durant and Irving wanted the NY life, but not the Knicks because of that man-child.

All 29 owners are loving that the Knicks are horribly run yet remain a money ticket.

Must’ve been watching civil rights movies all February long. Lets build a statue to commemorate a millionaire’s bravery in the face of a working class guy just trying to do his job. And his story keeps changing. It’ll be no time before he admits he was told several times he can’t use that entrance but he ignored that because he’s “Spike” and he’s paid millions for his seats over the years. Not a Dolan fan at all but Spike sounds silly for this (as do the Knicks with that petulant pr statement but when isn’t that the case).

Everything about the organization is a joke, including the fanbase.

At the end of the day he ended up attending the game and sitting his ass down like he always does. Instead of enjoying the win, he then goes on first take so he can be carressed by cac smellerman for victim points. I hope by some insanse turn of fortune the Knicks make the finals one day and Dolan bans this high profile mascot from the arena completely unless he comes in wearing a BK Nets jersey.

Heard Spike spent over 10 mill on Knicks tickets over the years.

Both sides should try and fix this. Makes no one look good.

All that was needed.

Yea, it is just another example of Dolan being petty and his out of control ego. Even if Spike was wrong, you have to handle this better as an owner. Same with Oak. Maybe he was wrong, but as an owner you should hold yourself to a higher standard and handle things better.

This is the crux of the matter. Dolan has to hold himself to a higher standard but he acts like a petulant child. No wonder top flight free agents dont want to come here.

All 29 of them are probably really close friends. They hang with the same group of people, probably have the same platinum membership at a certain club, etc.

You ain't no damn employee Spike. Why can't Chris Rock and every other celeb get the same preferential treatment too then. FOH drama queen ass.

If you want to be a fan, then be a fan. But don't think you're more entitled because you have more money to spend.

Spike Lee is a dick. Every time I've had an interaction with him in a basketball setting he is like a petulant child. From demanding to sit next to the players at a meet and greet to wanting preferential treatment like he was the guest. A first class toolbox.

Both have flaws
1. Knicks should have informed Spike before he enter the elevator thru to Employees entrance before his ticket was scanned.
2. Knicks security should have let Spike in and just informed him, that is his last time he will use that entrance because of the new policy.
3. Spike got melodrama for that a simple misunderstanding "Arrest me like my brother Oakley" (WTF? it's company policy, Employees ONLY) Just because your self proclaimed #1 Knick Fan and spent millions of dollars for seats for mostly grabage games (not in 2010-2013 seasons) You can do whatever you want.
4. Spike got his lovely courtside sit. Seems fine now. Knicks arguably got their biggest win of the season. Everyone is happy for RJ, Mitch and Frank. Then, Here he comes allowing an Interview for First Take. Ranting about the Knicks blah blah blah.

Knicks can't catch a break seriously from Dolan, Mills, Randle's Turnover, Frank's groin, Isola, ESPN and now SPIKE??

Spike Lee is the AD of the film industry. Nothing but an overrated sell out shill who hasn't directed a movie worth watching in a longer period of time than he has been attending Knicks games. It is very fascinating how the majority of his success has come from exploiting the type of people from the neighbourhoods that he once belonged to. I do not understand who on earth hand selected him to be the face of NY Knicks fandom.

What has he ever done for the Knicks or their fans base, besides be a stooge? Why should his feelings regarding MSG or the Knicks even matter to us? Why should we care if he spent money that very few people have access to on something that brought him pleasure for several decades? Because he is a celebrity we should place him on a special pedestal for claiming to support the same team that we root for?

I despise how the rich and powerful elite want the world to believe that they are these altruistic victims in order to distract us from the real issues that the majority of common people are battling with in life. There are many unfortunate people from midtown Manhattan that hang around Penn Plaza who don't have money to even get a train ride and yet Spike Lee wants us to sympathize with him regarding whether he goes through a certain entrance of a sporting arena? This is absolutely laughable!

Spike has been the number one fan in 30 years and I am shocked with the amount of fans actually giving Dolan the benefit of the doubt.
