people on ESPN legit now talking about giving the MVP to LeBron because, and I quote, 'he should have more MVPs'.

they are actually gonna steal it away from Giannis, it's already happening.

Not just ESPN. Just type in LeBron MVP into Youtube you got videos left and right from all of ESPN and FS1 shows talking about how its a wide open race between these two.

Honestly Im having a hard time telling if they're doing this just to try and draw some ratings for these shows at the moment, or if they actually believe what they're saying and are actually thinking about voting for LeBron.

they actually think it, there's no way they're gonna let Giannis in Milwaukee take the MVP over LeBron in LA, they are already drumming up the narratives...even went as low as using Kobe's death to do it

Is this really surprising to people?

1) Giannis is not popular on a National Media level.
2) 24-Hours news need more news to survive
3) They generate more news by making things controversial

The amount of coverage the Bucks get pales in comparison to how much the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry recieved in 2016.

It's like tuning into Fox News and expecting anything they say to carry substance; it doesn't.

Yup Im still just crossing my fingers its them trying to milk a storyline out of it so they have something to talk about, but when push comes to shove and no TV cameras are on, they're still going to vote for Giannis. But I have no faith in NBA media so wouldnt be surprised if they do it.

It won't happen. All it means is that Giannis won't be unanimous.

But the question remains after Giannis takes his trophy, if there is another dominant RS team, is Giannis really the best player in the league?

Giannis would need to be great in the playoffs too to be the best players in the league.

Giannis is having the best RS of all-time arguably while leading the Bucks to a potential 70 win season.

He's been dominant offensive and defensively(arguably DPOY).

It would probably be a bigger travesty than Karl over MJ in '97 if he didn't win this award.

He should be a unanimous MVP winner.

LeBron's only argument was RPM and now that's gone...what's a single argument for LeBron over Giannis? wins? nope. stats? nope. impact? nope.

if Giannis is not unanimous it would be a sham, let alone not winning the award altogether

Very funny so many people panic about it like crazy and think that if Giannis is not a unanimous MVP would be tragic for them even if only one player in NBA history was a unanimous MVP.

There should have been more than 1 unanimous MVP winner.

I agree but that is why I say it would not be tragic if Giannis is not a unanimous MVP.

Just because it has only happened once doesn't mean its not a bad precedent that should come to an end. There is no legit arguments for anyone either than Giannis for MVP. Its such a landslide that anyone that doesn't vote for him should be looked at if they should keep voting for these kinds of awards, because it would look like they're not taking their job seriously.

It's harder to be unanimous when there are like 120 people who vote...More likely to have at least one idiot who votes for another player...It's the same in other sport like for the HOF in baseball, but we have to live with that unfortunately

if there's an argument, even a single legitimate one, why LeBron should take votes away from Giannis make it, otherwise Giannis should get a unanimous first place vote...and Kobe's death is not a legit reason why LeBron should steal votes away from him, even though ESPN is disgustingly trying to make that argument

My only argument is that the Lakers are outscored this year when LBJ is on the bench (29th in offense) and when he is on the court, they are the 2nd best team in the NBA, so bigger impact...But for the rest, yes Giannis is the clear cut MVP, but it won't be the first time or the last time that a voter is silly in sports.

If you vote for anyone outside Giannis this year you should lose your right to vote in future mvps races. There is ZERO arguement for anyone over him. These talking heads on TV are clowns.

Totally classless and shameless and its surprising they're not being called out for it.

But atm it's hard for me to tell as well. I think the media just loves to force LeBron into conversations he has no business in in general, it's a business for them. This could just be that, lazy talk shows relying on this to get them through the season.

However...for many reasons and corporate parties involved I think LeBron would obviously be the preferred winner. I still dont think he'll get it but if for any reason the race becomes closer...ehh, you never know.

Giannis is +10.6 and Lebron is +10.1 net at the moment. There's not even that.
