Pretty much all the names in this thread have had more solid games than semi/green/poirier

Definitely don't need any upgrades. After all, our bench scored 2 pts in OT last night!

That's a weird landing spot for Daniels, they already have a hard time getting all their depth onto the floor. But I guess he sucks, so where else was he going to go?

Every time Wanamaker steps on the court I want to drink. This guy is really not a serviceable NBA player. Please cut him for anyone.

I just don’t understand why they brought him over from Europe and let Shane Larkin go.
There’s a reason Wanamaker has never had any interest from the NBA and wasn’t even an impact player in college at Pitt.

Because he's good and Larkin sucks. Larkin is tiny and can't score. Wanamaker is big and can score.
Apply your final statement to Shane Larkin currently.
lmao Shane Larkin had a 49.1 TS% the last time he was in the NBA. The love affair with this guy is hilarious.

Size matters. Last night there was a 1-4 switch where tatum ended up on sexton and Wannamaker on Love, love had post position, but he pushed him out so close to tatum that sexton couldn't get the pass to the post. He's got grown man strength. People need to realize if Larkin or IT was here, we would have given up an easy 2 on that play, and then they would go to it over and over again. Flashbacks to playing the cavs and LBJ when IT was here going through my head. (rozier too).
At least Kemba is fairly fast at the weak side big and pg swap in those situations.

Wait you think Wanamaker is actually good?
He has no business playing 20 mins a night. Especially not for a contender but unfortunately injuries have started to accumulate

I actually don't really have an issue letting Larkin go. My point was signing Wanamaker over him.
I'm just shocked they couldn't find a PG better than Wanamaker to come in and play 20 mins a night

Yeah, he's good, maybe the best third-string PG in the league. Versatile, strong defender, very effective shooter from all three levels. He turns it over a little much is the main issue, just an average passer. Better than Shane Larkin in all regards at the very least.
If you can find me a better point guard who makes as much as Wanamaker (or less) that could have been acquired as a free agent, I'm all ears. I see Kendrick Nunn and Terence Davis although they're more SG (which is fine, don't really need a ballhandler-type) and it appears 29 teams goofed hard on them.
This reminds me of people complaining that the Celtics don't have enough bigs, as if there are just like a hundred bigs out there who can defend Joel Embiid. Where are these point guards who make the league minimum and are better than Brad Wanamaker? They were acquired via the draft or they don't exist.

2nd all of that, except on the break he's not even an average passer. He is great at somehow getting his shot off as people bounce off him, so it works most the time. But he misses the obvious drop-off to a guy running the court following him - a lot.

Yeah he's really bad there, but he draw quite a lot of fouls and he scores at roughly league average efficiency overall.
He scores well in transition regardless. Much better than Kemba Walker for instance.

Yeah, he seems so slow about going up for the layup against much bigger dudes running for the chase down, but he always gets it off and converts. Or he'll go 1 on 2 with an obvious trailer, but still score. It's uncanny, really. Like, you can't argue cuz he's getting the 2 points, but it never seems like the right play.

Re: Buyout Thread: If Celtics get a player in buyout market, who would be cut?
Yeah his game is not really exciting to watch I agree. He looks slow, out of shape, his shot is kind of flat sometimes. Shane Larkin is a lot more exciting to watch because he has a 40 inch vertical and he's super quick. Unfortunately he's not very good.
The only reason he averages 20 mins a game is because the Celtics have had like 5 games all season with Walker/Smart/Brown/Hayward/Tatum all healthy.
Here is a list of guards this year who have more WS than Wanamaker. Every single one of them makes more money than Brad except for Terence Davis. And he was signed this offseason, so unfortunately Ainge signed Javonte Green instead of Terence Davis.

Now that I've given up the thought that he would ever pass it (and it took 50 games or so) I love Wanamaker on the break. Everyone else in the L might at least pass it. Not Brad. That **** is going to the rim and it is going up. I love it. He's a tank of a point guard. Played PF in college. We don't do soft and small (with Waters we have one but not the other).

Nah. Wasn't saying that at all. I'm with 31to6. It's fascinating to me how it works.

I agree Wanamaker is a good 3rd string PG. The issue is that he's playing 20 minutes a game which is equal to what other backup point guards in the league play...
And yes I realize it's because of injuries but even with Kemba healthy he's still getting 15+ minutes a night. He's fine but as we saw vs the Lakers and Rockets recently he's a liability vs the best teams.
