I'm out and about everyday. I workout 5 times a week and work with a hundred plus people daily. Nothing for me has changed one bit!

So Democrats are working with the Chinese government to create the coronavirus in order to harm our economy leading into the Presidential election so that Trump loses. Then when he loses, the liberals will “take all our guns.” Sufficiently weakened and unable to raise irregular militia, we will be defenseless. China will simply waltz in, impose communist rule and possibly force us all to become gay and dark skinned.

I agree people are overreacting, but its still a pandemic in its early stages. Also it reportedly takes a week or two for someone to start showing symptoms after contracting the virus.

I will say that people should be telling their parents/grandparents to avoid crowded places unless absolutely necessary, though. I've been taking some precautions with my elderly-ish parents.

This is what I hate about this forum. People like me who are under the Chinese Communist rule trying to warn other posters about how the Chinese government is accountable for this whole mess - and no, I am not talking about conspiracy. Even if the Chinese government did not manufacture the virus, their attempt trying to cover up the pandemic is already an indirect action to make the virus spread to other countries in the world.

And a retired mod come to make a joke about Communist rule - not to mention it is an extremely bad joke because the exact some things are happening in the Xinjiang concentration camps (i.e. reeducation centers) where the Uighurs are forced to admit that there are Chinese instead of Uighurs and some of them are forced to change their sexual orientations.

Not everything is about you. It was a satirical post regarding domestic right wing pro-Trump conspiracy theories that permeate social and political discussion in the US these days because our own President helps spread them publicly to his base. I don’t support censorship or the Chinese communist regime passively or overtly.

Put another way, the post was about America, not China. And you’re probably right that my post won’t be “dealt with” but if it is, so be it. Though it’s almost like you took a step towards trying to censor me, don’t you think?

The thread is about coronavirus which originated in China. I get the satire part and am perfectly fine with it. The issue is that you made a terribly bad joke (the bold part) about how Chinese Communist party is oppressing its own people. Just because you are not living under the Communist party doesn't mean nobody else is suffering due to the regime. Have some empathy, man.

I think it will age real well.

Mainly because as far as I can determine, it doesn't appear that Corona Virus doesn't seem worse than the normal flu unless you are immuno-compromised. So yeah, maybe if you do these things you will get it, must like you might get any other bug, but then 2 weeks later, you'll probably also be fine.

Mainly because as far as I can determine, it doesn't appear that Corona Virus doesn't seem worse than the normal flu unless you are immuno-compromised. So yeah, maybe if you do these things you will get it, must like you might get any other bug, but then 2 weeks later, you'll probably also be fine.

Obviously, I hope you're right, but It is worse than the flu. The death rate is at 3.4% (and appears to be rising), whereas the flu is less than 1%. Additionally, it's already causing a change in life (items being sold out, medicine shortages, flight reductions, work cancelation, etc.) because we have no vaccine for it.
