They needed it too. Get to Thursday and hoping Morey can get a wing unless its just Capela coming back. Really don't love the ultra smallball but if he's back they're in OK shape.

Their match up again the Clippers will be very interesting now, with Tucker and RoCo to throw against Kawhi and PG. If they get a serviceable 5 in the buyout market, they become legit scary for the championship. I doubt TT gets bought out, but he would put them up there.

I think they already matched up pretty well with the clips, and now even better, but feel the opposite about LAL. I already thought they'd struggle with the Lakers size, now it's even worse. Even if they're able to run Dwight and JaVale off the floor, LeBron-AD frontcourt is still tough for them. You obviously want Tucker on LeBron, and Covington is best as an off the ball safety so you don't want him on AD, and he's pretty weak too, so I'm not sure what you do there. Ideally Tristan Thompson gets a buyout and jumps on board

It's pretty rough that Harden keeps running screens to get better defensive match ups and keeps being passed around from Kawhi to PG to Morris. That's a formidable wing defense.

It's not easy to get past the Clippers wing defense but when the Rockets do, it's an easy layup at the rim almost every time.

What an awful stretch in this 2nd quarter for Harden. It’s these “valleys” that always make me hesitant to call him the best or even Top 3 in the league.

It's hard to believe in the Rockets when these kind of shooting nights can happen in any given playoff game, and are perhaps more likely the longer a series goes on.

Dantoni playing 8 guys in the playoffs doesnt help altho it might be 9 this year

Oh well this isnt surprising. I mentioned when it happened that Marcus was a direct counter for the Roco acquisition and it wouldnt make the Rockets a bad matchup for the Clips anymore and its looking like that and more specially with Reggie accepting being the 8th best player on the team

He looks absolutely miserable without Capela.

And with Westbrook playing physical, he looks like the boy who cried wolf when pleading for RS level calls on his moves.

These shooting nights have no buffer with no big man to rebound those misses.

Ppl underrated how much Clint helped Hardens game. Without the lob threat and his rolling game Hardens passing looks significantly worse and he doesnt get the same easy driving lanes when Clint forces hell downhill on those dive cuts and slip screens

But the move was made for Westbrook. He was garbage with Capela and Harden as the teams best player has had to adjust

I'm still kind of confused at that. Yeah, moving Capela opened up space, but Westbrook/Capela without Harden were a +5.4 net rating on the season. With Harden it was +1.8. Westbrook and Capela worked just fine.

The trade was a ceiling/floor thing, and to be honest Covington's just a better and healthier player.

It's a weird shooting slump, but not seeing it as because of Capela, sometimes its just not a guy's night. His 3 point shooting's been a bit downward since a hot few weeks early, but tonight just wasn't there for anyone it didn't seem like.

It's not capela. He doesn't look to be in great shape.

Harden was great in February. 32/6/8 on 64% TS%. And his struggles in January happened mostly before the Capela trade. The current Clippers are just a great defensive team and he was always prone to cold shooting games from 3, he had plenty of 2/15 from 3 and similar lines earlier in the season.

It's funny how Harden whines that Giannis is somehow "unskilled" when he's reduced his own game to flopping and chucking difficult stepback threes. He doesn't move without the ball or play defense. I'd love to know what his 3PT% has been since he talked trash about Giannis.
