He is averaging under 40 FG% in drives at the rim. He has strenght but finishing contested layups isn't one of them.

Where are you getting that information? He is currently shooting just under 68% inside of 3 ft per basketball reference. He definitely can improve his handle and finishing ability at the rim, but I'm not sure where you're getting your data.

FG% inside 3 feet accounts all shots including those who aren't contested as transition. Drives in the other hand are in the half court and when the defense can contest the shot.

I noticed him struggling in drives to the basket, finishing, when he first got here. Some of us chatted about it then. But in recent games he has showed improvement already. Very quick change imo. That got me to back off complaining about it. I'm assuming those early struggles here accounts for some of the lower numbers. At the time I noted it as the only weakness I saw. If he's already starting to turn that into yet another positive the sky is the limit. He may or may not become elite at drives, but just being competent there is enough given everything else he's doing.

I'd have expected him to struggle even more than he did. IMO he sorta' got beaten down in Denver. Coach complained about his defense, so he didn't play him much. Then the complaint was he wasn't consistent on offense either. When you add in the Nuggets' top player, Jokic, is all about passing, the rest of the team also focuses on passing. At times it seems they are afraid to shoot at all. Beasley's game is different. He's got decent handles for a wing and can create his own shot. I think he'll work out great for the Twolves. His game should matchup better and better with Towns as he learns how to mesh with Towns. The really nice thing about Beasley's game is that he can fit with almost any wing and literally any PG or PF that works for Towns.

The dude was ice cold from 3, played zero defense, and overall had 1 assist and 1 turnover. 4 rebounds, no steals, no blocks, and 1 for 5 from 3. Yes he attacked well and got some baskets, but that isn’t 18-22 mil territory. 14-15 is fair. I honestly think teams will hesitate to offer more than 12-13 to him because they want to preserve cap space for 2021.

Lavine got 4 and 80 although he was coming off of an injury. I think he’s likely worked his way into 15-20m territory rather than 10-15m assuming he keeps this up for the remainder of the season.

Not to derail this thread too much but I'd actually really like this move for New York.

Assuming they draft a PG (whether it's LaMelo or Cole is irrelevant) then they'll get the best tutor for that guy while also starting to win right now and bringing some respectability back to that franchise. It all just depends on the cost.

Per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, the Wolves will "no doubt" want to sign Malik Beasley to a long-term contract this summer.
Beasley, who was buried on the bench in Denver, has played very well since the mid-season trade to Minnesota. He averaged 20.7 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 42.6 percent from downtown in 14 starts. Beasley will be a restricted free agent, which means that the Wolves have the right to match any offer he receives. Krawczynski writes: "When he first arrived here, my thought was it would be in the four-year, $48 million range, but now I think the number is going higher and higher. Where does it stop? Too early to tell, but I do see Beasley here next season."

agree ... I for one complained that he was one-dimensional, but he was showing some ability to go to the basket. Still has work to do there, especially the And1, but good to see the effort so far. Seems to have really taken a positive view of the opportunity,
