A lot will depend on what happens in June. AD definitely stays if they win it all with him preferably not playing center. But for that to happen, EVERYTHING needs to be right. Lebron in playoff mode-playing great defense with limited 3's attempts and more FTs, role players Green,Kuzma etc hitting their shots while Howard and JMG dominates the inside and Vogel showcase his playoff playbook with sets that are extremely difficult to defend.
He's definitely out if they exit early with Vogel forcing him to play center, he gets banged around while Lebron settles for 3's while not defending, role players fail to step up and Vogel didn't adjust and have no good sets to help his team win.
He will more likely stay if they win it all with him playing C in spot mins
he will likely leave if they fail and Lebron and the rest don't step up.
What's considered an early exit in your eyes? Let's say they get eliminated in the western conference finals in six games, you think he goes?

This is the best team he's been on by far. Where's he gonna leave to? Chicago? Lol please.

But you’re assuming other teams would not make more moves to lure him to come in. No one anticipated the Clippers to get PG13 and they did. Eastern Conference is still easier than West, Miami has good pieces, if they go deep this playoffs AD can just go there. Chicago can trade their pieces to create room for another superstar Free agent or trade for one like the Clippers did. I think it’s foolish to assume anything until AD signs the contract. Lebron needs to be same Lebron 2 years ago, Vogel needs to prove he’s not the same confused Orlando coach, the supporting cast needs to step up. I would be nervous if they lose to the Clips because I don’t think it’s going to change next year but even if they don’t win it all if they hurdle the Hobos then AD might stay.

Yes, I'm assuming that. I don't consider AD to be a top 5 talent. Especially if everyone is healthy, which is not the case this year, only reason he's in this year's top 5.

With PG swing a trade, he's swinging a trade because he wants to play with a top 5 guy. Same thing with AD swinging the trade to the Lakers, he wants to play with a top 5 guy in LeBron.

Miami has bam. AD is better than bam but he's not as versatile as bam. I think Miami wouldn't want to stunt his growth. I also don't think he wants to be around that militant environment and the discipline required to be there. They check your body far every week.

I doubt there's a situation out there that's better for ad judging from a basketball and business perspective. I don't see anyone clamoring to get AD. As talented as he is, all the other top guys have their guys. Lakers give him the best chance to win.

Short of that, maybe not.

He hasn’t ruled out Chicago yet.
Chicago is a leverage play. Chicago isn't realistic.

If LeBron plays defense, it’s realistic that AD stays. It’s as simple as that.

If he does play defense against KL tomorrow like he did against Giannis, we’re good. We win it all this year and AD stays.

If he hides from Kawhi tomorrow for the third time in a row, Chicago isn’t just a play.

If Bron doesn’t play defense all out from here on out we might get booted in the second round.

AD is tired of second round exits, loves Chicago,

He's not going to Chicago and give up his chance to build a dynasty with Alex Caruso

I really think it’s foolish to assume that AD is staying and not going anywhere. These players are smart and talk amongst themselves to team up. No one anticipated the Miami collusion, KD joining a 73 win team them leaving to team up with Kyrie of all people. How many expected the Clippers would swoop in to get 2 superstars without giving up Lou and Harrell.
If God forbid Clippers prevails, I can see AD Going to a much easier East to avoid the Clips , the healhier GSW, Nuggets etc snd just face teams with 1 superstar in the playoffs. Ainge and Riley can move assets around to create room.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
