OT: Nets fire Kenny Atkinson

Just saw that the Nets and Atkinson parted ways. This was a big surprise to me but I am not watching Nets games to really see how his performance has been recently. I do know he is the type of coach the Knicks could use to properly develop our young players. Only issue I see is we have no shooters for Kenny to work with. It’s nice to see another quality coach on the market. I’d much rather go with a coach like Kenny vs Thibs or Mark Jackson.

What a disgrace.

Kenny reminds me of young JVG with his work ethic and determination. If true, this has Kyrie/KD written all over it.

I’m really baffled by this decision by Brooklyn. Kenny didn’t even get to coach Durant yet, and Irving was injured most of the season. What did they expect their record to be in this situation? Who the hell do they plan on bringing in that could better coach these guys??
Having said that, this is a coach I can see being a great fit for what we need to build. I’ve always respected Kenny and his style of basketball. Fits the modern game and young players seem to respect him.

They did nothing but worship him this season. Theyll say hes a bad head coach next season lol

His days were numbered the day he was introduced as the head coach.

Kenny was brought in to help the players develop and the moment they had any success he was going to get the boot.

Some saw it as her angling for the Knicks job, but now after Kenny's firing it's most likely she was angling for the Nets job.

Atkinson is a great coach. Would be happy to have him.

Nets probably want to pursue a big name. Could see D’Antoni there next year.
