If the Wizards can get 30 minutes of quality defense and rebounding from their bench G play (Brown Jr, Napier, Robinson), then that will help Beal and Wall be effective and fresh all the other 66 minutes.

I think next season will see Beal, if disgruntled, traded for something that makes the Wizatds perennially a 50-win or better team. He's truly good but I think he's going to become restless. His usage cannot be sustained with John back.

I think Beal is going to cost them a few draft spots. Dude is all in for an ALL NBA spot.

Pretty sure it will be. Great trade.

The Clippers had numbers SGA is better and he's no longer a Clipper. Lou Williams and Pat Beverly were ahead of Robinson. They probably destroyed his confidence in practice as well.

Now he's getting the opportunity to be relaxed. He's like Hachimura, learning by doing/playing along with first team players

.
gambitx777 wrote:Nights like that happen. But damn if this could be the Robinson we get every night. Good trade. This is why we traded for this kid. If he gets confidence and does this most nights that's not bad at all.
nate33 wrote:Hachimura is having a nightmare night. He's doing lots of things right, but keeps getting blocked at the rim, or getting his would-be steals batted away off his leg. He's played 21 minutes and has 1 point, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.

(Sarcasm alert)

Why would you want an Andre Igoudala?

Also, Brown Jr rebounds like Magic Johnson.
youngWizzy wrote:The Wiz have to atleast try experimenting with Troy at the point guard role. Giving him that opportunity would help him develop his ball handling and play making skills and become an Andre Iguodala type swiss army knife that you can play anywhere (if all goes well).

Dat2U, an awesome poster but also like all of us not right all the time, DOESN'T LIKE REDDISH at all.

(Baiting a response)

The kid went very high in the draft.

Nice to see Hachimura come up with some clutch rebounds and FT's late in the game after a horrible outing. Troy Brown played pretty well, as did Robinson and Bryant. The defense wasn't quite as bad as the numbers. Cam Reddish was hitting all kinds of crazy shots that he normally doesn't hit.

Overall, not too much to be proud about though. Beating Atlanta at home when they don't have Trae Young should have been easier than that.

Cam been hitting these types of shots every game since January with the exception of a game or two. I really wish people would watch us more and realize we are really freaking talent, just freaking young.

Ohhhh, snap.

Reddish went to Duke...very high profile.

I don't know enough to say what kind of pro I think he is or will become. I can say I remember the hype about Reddish.

Reddish shot the ball well, it's true.

Then, when you look at the rest of his line, you see that in 29 minutes, he had 1 rebound, 1 assist, & 7 turnovers!! :)

Thanks for the info, King Ken

Norm Powell is a really good player. IIRC Powell's role was diminished when Kawhi Leonard was a Raptor. He didn't get off the bench last playoffs. Doesn't mean he was any worse.

2 assists and 28 minutes. Cam has been one of the best in the NBA at PPT since Jan. Best in the NBA with Norm Powell and Zion since ASB. He's a bucket and a defensive menace. We are happy as **** with Reddish. Tonight was rough in terms of turnovers but rarely would he get swarmed with Trae in the lineup.

Nice stat!

I wonder about Bertans and this stat. Also, healthy Bryant.

What's PPT?

Points Per Touches - One of the most valuable stats there is when reviewing scorers and bucket getters.

Before All-Star Break:

No Basketball tonight means I get to break down all of the Cam's advanced stats, metrics, and charts. Cam is going to be a professional scorer. He needs a lot less than anyone on our team to score outside of Trae and it's not even close. Against CLE, his PPT was an insane .552. Meaning every time he touch the ball, over 1 out of 2 touches would lead to points. Next year, Cam will breakout if not even sooner.

https://stats.nba.com/players/touches/?Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular Season&TeamID=1610612737&sort=PTS_PER_TOUCH&dir=1&LastNGames=1

We need to get his touches up to 50-65 per game level. Don't be surprised if he's averaging 20ppg a game next year.

In the last 15 games, these are the players with a higher PPT than Cam Reddish (.415) who played at least 25 mins a night:

Kawhi Leonard - INSANE but that's shouldn't come as a surprise, he's a top 3 NBA player. Leonard - 0.443

Bradley Beal - 10 points over Cam. An insane .425. Elite!

Jaylen Brown - An All-Star level 0.430. CRAZY. Boston really needs to give him more touches but his lack of creativity for others might hurt that.

Zach LaVine - Been on a complete offensive tear, 0.417

Seth Curry - He is the best PDS off the bench guard in the NBA right now. 0.441

Eric Gordon - Superstar 6th man is back in the 2nd half of the season like usual: 0.445

T.J. Warren - Been on an offensive monster run in the last 15 games: 0.496. This might be the highest period in the NBA. Meaning, every other time he touches the ball, he gets points. Think about that.

Dillon Brooks - I call him the new Michael Redd for a reason. 0.416. A shooting machine who scores like a microwave.

I won't add Jae Crowder since he's too new.

Zion Williamson - Not much needs to be said. Guarding him is like guarding Shaq to a degree. 0.490

Marcus Morris Sr (Knicks) - While he has cooled off immensely with the Clippers, with the Knicks he was looking like a damn star PF. 0.444

Devin Booker - He was on a mission to prove he was snubbed and showed it too. 0.477

Kelly Oubre - One of the hottest scorers of all season. Oubre been nothing but a bucket. 0.438

Gary Trent Jr. - He's been on one in the last month or two like Cam has on offense but even more than Cam. Like Cam, he needed the game to slow down to an extreme level but the awareness and BBIQ was always there. 0.486

Norman Powell - As the Hawks experienced, Powell has been kicking ass and taking names in JAN and been hurt in FEB. 0.444

Jordan Clarkson - Since the trade to Utah, Jordan has been what the doctor ordered for the Jazz. Instant bucket for them. 0.444

Bojan Bogdanovic - He has been hitting buzzer-beaters and just flat out a game-changer in JAN and FEB for the Jazz. 0.462

16 players ahead of Cam Reddish. That's all.

Post All-Star Break -

He's been in the top five (4th) for points per touch in the NBA for players playing more than 24 MPG. Cam Reddish is a walking bucket not to mention a defensive menace. This does not include today's game where it's going up for both Reddish and Beal who are both in the top 5.

And +1 CCJ you don't give a guy like Beal away for nothing you build around him. Something the Wiz is not capable of.

Beal seems happy here for whatever **** reason. He is going to be tough to move.

I've given him some criticism . But that was mostly on his stats.ive changed shifts at work so I get to watch more games and I see some good things watching him live.

I was reading the boxscore on espn, but it's a minor point. I didn't mean to criticize Cam, I meant to point out what he did on the court. You're not deciding to overlook the rest of his line are you? 1 rebound in 28 minutes -- that's factual, right? 7 turnovers? I didn't make that up, did I? He did have a steal as well. &, yes, 2 assists not 1.

I have nothing against Cam. I hope he becomes a terrific player -- I like to see these kids succeed! &, b/c I don't follow the Hawks closely the way you do, Ken, I am likely to pay attention his overall 2 pt. % this season -- 41.6% -- not to a recent trend in his %.

In fact, overall, Cam Reddish has had a terrible rookie season. If his overall numbers reflect an improvement the last couple of months, that's good. But, it would have to mean that the previous months were so godawful that it wouldn't take much to improve on them, because on the season they are absolutely awful. As they were at Duke, btw.

Hunter too has been awful. So has Fernando. OTOH, Huerter is having a really good 2d year in the league. Collins is an absolutely terrific player. Trae Young is having a tremendous 2d year.

All these statements are of exactly the same nature. They're not opinions; they're just expressions of the numbers these guys are putting up.

I don't know if its just me but Bertans looks like the worst 2 point scorer I have ever seen he is bad at it and rarely makes them so awkward. Stick to shooting 30 footers Bertans.

No..it's not just you. I've been thinking the exact same thing. Bertans hits 30 footers with ease...yet is a terrible midrange shooter.
