I flew from JFK to CUN on Sunday, flying back tomorrow. I'm not worried at all.

I work in Duane reade, we’ve been out of masks for about a month now. We recently sold out of hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, all rubbing alcohol, all surgical gloves and I think chlorox wipes too. Manager doesn’t seem to know if they’ll get masks anytime soon. Maybe try the mom and pop pharmacies for that stuff. Also, empty arena games sounds kinda cool

Most infected people heal within a week. This is a cold. It's nothing but a media craze. This isn't that bad.

World Health Organization said it has a 3.4% death rate among those that are infected. This could be a lot more devestating than the flu.

I think the thing about this virus is how it will hit global markets and cause damage that way. I'm of the opinion that we are long overdue for a correction, chinas growth is a joke. Store shelves are already empty. Company's aren't meeting orders and are bringing business to a stand still by keeping workers at home and canceling events.

What's going to happen is summer is going to come, the virus will settle down because it always does in the hotter seasons, people will think the problem is under control, and then.....

Image

That's when hell is going to really break loose, next flu season.

The vaccine is a year away, and unlike now, where people get flu shots if they feel like getting them, it will be crucial to get it because this will be new age common flu that kills even more than the 20,000 a year the regular flu does.

It's why it's hilarious watching workers in hazmat suits walking around spraying streets with mysterious mist, NYC MTA workers wiping down turnstiles with rags, as if a guy with the coronavirus can't smear his snot on one of them as soon as they're done, because there is nothing they can do to stop it from spreading. It's inevitable that this is going to be something we are going to have to fight and live with in the future.

Mandatory vaccinations and booster shots will be what every person will have to get, just as how we do now for MMR.

Cuomo issues a state of emergency for NY.

57 cases now in Westchester NY. This is not good for our kids development.

World Health Organization said it has a 3.4% death rate among those that are infected. This could be a lot more devestating than the flu.

WHO also state that influenza causes infections with 10-20% of the world's population annually. No typo. Each year 290000 - 650000 people die from it.

The 3.4% you're talking about sound massive but are (officially) suspected to be significantly lower due to the vast amount of unknown cases in which people simply heal up. Basically they're hyped up numbers because so many cases of Corona aren't registered, so the stats aren't correct.

I'm not saying this isn't highly, highly infectious, but so far it's a cold. In most cases you'll experience mild symptoms and heal without further medical care. Of course you need to be careful, but mostly to make sure the virus doesn't spread too much. Most people aren't vulnerable to serious illness.

It is no surprise the ignoramus in the WH shat the bed hard during his first real crisis. He is a big dummy and the oblivious drivel he is spewing about coronavirus will drive that obvious fact home for those whose minds were clouded before.

Now there are reports he was probably exposed to it himself by shaking hands of someone associated with an infected person. If he is infected he spread it throughout the WH which would be poetic justice.

He was already going to hobble into the election, but this virus and the economic slow down it will at least temporarily induce ensures means he is toast even more than before.

Here is an article warning against the perception of the virus as ordinary flu.

Well obviously this isn't an ordinary flu. It's flu like symptoms, clearly much more infectious, but the vast majority of people still don't face severe illness once infected.

I just found out my auntie and uncle (in their 80s) just drove back from Florida to Long Island because my aunt has severe flu-like symptoms.

I was never crazy about her anyhow.
