Bucks play at Denver tomorrow, and Celtics on Thursday. Most likely without Giannis tomorrow, probably with him against the Celtics.

Between our schedule to finish the season and Giannis injury I'm resigned now to finish with the second best record.

I expect a few more games like today vs the Suns. Which tanks our overall record but probably also highlights how valuable Giannis is to our team and also why he is a DPOY candidate.

MVP will be locked in for LeBron when the Lakers finish ahead of the bucks in the standings.

Yea I can't lie man, it's one thing to get annoyed at narrative; but at the end of the day when you unequivocally stake your claim as the best player in the world like LeBron did this weekend, you're due a little leeway for mid-season play. If the Lakers somehow pass the Bucks for best record, all bets are off. Especially considering how much more LeBron means to his team than Giannis does. Hell, at some point even the minutes played and the fact that LeBron is doing this in the West has to count for something.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

As someone who constantly calls people for their absurd takes hating LeBron, let's be honest, he doesn't deserve MVP unless this Giannis injury is longer lasting. He should rightfully finish second.

Yeah it’s still Giannis for me. Unreal weekend for LeBron with still some really hard games coming up. If he goes on a tear this next week with Giannis out, it could become a legit discussion.

If Lakers finish with a better record and Giannis is out for awhile, I could see LeBron winning it.

Probably unfair though. No matter what, I think Giannis will have had the better season overall

The MVP doesn't care about who had the better overall season, it will go to whoever has the better team record. Since 2002 with some minor exceptions ie 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2017 the MVP always goes to the clearcut superstar on the best team in the league, if there isn't one it will go to the superstar on the 2nd best team and so on and so forth.

AD was the one today who established who the best was especially when the Lakers were down going into the 3rd quarter.

True, but AD is only one teammate. I think if you ranked teammates:

1-2 Lebron and Giannis
3 AD
4 Middleton
5 Donte
6 Lopez
7 Bledsoe
8 Hill
9 Kuzma or Green?

So LeBron has the next best teammate but Giannis has the next five guys so it kind of balances itself out imo

If you watched the game on mute, you would think AD was the Lakers best player yesterday.

Nuh, not for the big games. Most of those dudes go missing. I'll vouch for donte and hill as glue guys. Brook isn't playable against a stretch 5.

Give me giannis and a proper no.2 and i'll win the next 5 titles. Giannis will physically drain everyone and if needed, i'll have my clutch 2 close out the close ones.

It's less about Giannis and more about who the other guys that might get some 1st place votes are.

Heej wrote:LeBron might have AD to help but the Bucks have a pretty stacked 2-way team from top to bottom as a supporting cast for Giannis. Their numbers still beast on other teams when Giannis sits. There's no way he doesn't have a sick supporting cast too if they're on a 70 win pace with Giannis playing 31 mins a game.

I will say this much, if the Bucks fail to win 70 and LeBron outplays Giannis down this last 20 game stretch while not having a single strike-out vs his remaining Marquee matchups, there's a chance the media gives it to him. A lot of the unanimity is based on that magic 70 number. If they win 69 games or God forbid 68, the race becomes a lot more wide open than people think.

God forbid 68

You're right though. For some reason 68 wins seems farther from 69 than 69 to 70. Never noticed before but it's a fact now

All the talk of if the lakers get the best record... just remember they have that tough stretch of 5 games in 6 nights which includes 3 straight and a b2b which is ridiculous. They’re definitely dropping a game or two there (Play the clips on the last night). It’s pretty unlikely they end up with the best record.

Fact: He wasn’t. But they couldn’t have won without him same goes for lebron and AB.

This is misleading.

I'll trade you anyone on that list for AD,do you do it?
