Andre with the 28/17 line and was +18! Finally really helping push our tank up the standings

Cavs are 4-3 with Dre in the lineup

Has more to do with Sexton being in a groove.

Cleveland will continue to win. Their surrounding Dre with shooters, Love is still a monster on the boards, they're playing Delly big minutes now. Hes a champion hi IQ pg. Sexton can just focus on driving and scoring.

Obviously some new coaching has made a difference too.

They are a better team now, so we'll definitely move up in the tank percentage.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Any word on Henson? For a Piston, such an ankle roll is season-ending.

Reggie is playing pretty well in LA as well.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Yeah, the problem with RJ was that we expected him to be the franchise pg, not a bench scoring guard. If he's willing to accept that role, he can help a team. That was never going to happen here though.

I don't think there was ever any question that Dre and Reggie were good basketball players - just that they were clearly unable to meet anywhere close the expectations of their team and contract. I saw a few box scores with Dre and Cleveland, and while I couldn't stomach an actual Cavs game, it did not indicate Dre for the most part has positively affected his team. They seem to overall be doing better with Thompson. That's just boxscore analysis though.

Dre doesn't really impact the game though - not as far as winning goes.

Yes he puts up big numbers in the boxscore but after all this time:

His screens are still lazy, some are just terrible!

He's slow to roll on the PnR a lot of the time so he doesn't get lobs over the top which are easy 2s

He doesn't seal his man in the paint to create driving lanes for his wings, making the lane even more clogged when any guard he's ever played with drives.

He spends too much time facing up, looking to put on a move against his man, holding the ball as the defence drops down, further clogging the paint.

While waiting to put that move on he holds the ball low where it often is swiped away by pesky guards coming from blindspots.

All on display in their win

That's just poor big man play regardless of your stats and all those impact your offensive sets & winning more than anything else he might do.

It's not about post ups or points per possession or rebounding rate or whatever numbers anyone wants to use to give him some love.

Dre is a poor big man cause he's never worked on all the little things he could do that would actually benefit his team.

He might have been miscast as a "star" but that doesn't excuse him for not putting in the effort to work on all those little things that help a offense flow better, move better and allows for easy baskets.

As I said the organisation didn't do much to help put him in the right role but dude needs to accept the fact he didn't do enough to help himself develop either.
