The weekend LBJ became a Laker

Post#1 » by stan francisco » Tue Mar 10, 2020 4:17 am

I’ve never been an LBJ fan. I’m a Laker fan. Didn’t even ride Kobe’s nuts blindly like many here do. Front of jersey team guy here, not individual accolades starF%<£#!.

I’ve been critical of LBJ not playing both ends, I’ve pointed out how he’s scared of Kawhi, I’ve been pissed at the attempt of trading away the youth behind their backs ever since.

This weekend, LeBron dove to the floor, played man defense on both Kawhi and Giannis without hiding, he was rebounding, pointing, screaming like he finally cared.

I know we’re spoiled by Kobe bringing this level of intensity every night for 20 years, and I thought the Robot would do the Kobe thing at the end of the Clitters game but LBJ was the one to be the badass down the stretch, not Kawhi.

Impressive. That’s the leadership $35M should net you, and the stuff I personally have expected since he became a Laker.

The system is starting to click but LBJ finally played like a man possessed. That’s what it’ll take.

Without it, no rings.

The way I see it, he started becoming a real Laker this weekend. Up until now, he’s worn the jersey and enjoyed the paycheck. Now he seems to own how much is on the line. I see a shift since Kobe left.

Either way, doing what it takes like diving to the floor is what Angelenos respect. Scrappy over flashy, that’s why we lived Kobe—his competitiveness.

If he keeps this kind of play up maybe even miles will resurface to sing his praise. :D

I just hope health prevails roster wide so that we have a fair shot. Thinking we can win it all but this LBJ showing up is a prerequisite.

The LBJ from before that weekend isn’t enough.

Waiting with excitement to see this team get better and better. Time for the Kuz and the Caruso to get their shots going.

Never thought I’d say this but, go Le Gr... Bron!

That's great and all, I guess I get your point, but for me, Lebron became part of the Laker family once he signed on the dotted line. That's it , he 's family. He's committed and shows allegiance from that day forward he became a Laker for me.

I mean, what if he let's you down during the playoffs? what if he gets run off by the bucks or clips? He isnt a laker anymore in your mind?
This is all a process for him like anyone else in a family. Takes time to invest in someone, takes time for him to slowly build to something behind the scenes, takes time to be patient and work through let downs, and then be there to observe greatness in whatever they do to realize their goals or their purpose. Or maybe they never realize/accomplish the dream, but he's still part of the family.

He's always been part of the team for me, part of Laker family once he literally joined.

We ain’t gonna see Miles again unless we lose in the playoffs, at which point we’ll get an overwrought, 20-paragraph essay about how LeBron and his agent are the devil. Frankly, I’ll bet he’s a Pelicans fan now.

Miles doesn’t exactly strike me as afraid or unable to stand up for his opinions. He might be busy making a film or alike.

But regarding a LeBron, I thought he had a good weekend; his best three game stretch as a Laker.

Haven't read the replies yet ... But my first thoughts were.

Fark no, Fark no, Fark no! ...

My mate saw this on a thread I posted on FB and laughed his ass off...

I still stand my ground. Honestly can't watch B-ball atm. I've lost interest, not just because of him, but the way the game is atm.

I miss thhe 80's 90's by a mile and it's not even close.

The Truth will eventually all come out and some of you will know what I'm talking about :)

wink wink.

Few drinks down happy days and peace out
